I'm in two minds about whether to translate "sole" as "sun" or as "sunshine", but I think that on balance the latter makes more sense except in the last stanza.
I'm guessing at what modern standard Italian equivalents of some parts would be - if these guesses are wrong, so is my English version. Here are my guesses:-
na jurnata 'e sole - una giornata di sole
n'aria - nell aria
Pe'll'- Per la (or is the standard Italian "Pel" or "Per l'"?)
n'atu - un altro
Luceno 'e llastre - luccicano le lastre
toia - tua
lavannara - lavavetri
pe' tramente - ( per tramite de que) perché, purché - so English "as long as" or "because"
spanne - spande
se ne scenne - si scende
vene - viene
sotta - sotto
restarria - resterei?
and "'o" often seems to be "il" - perhaps the Neapolitan dialect had something in common lost the "l" of Latin "ille" much as West Iberic dialects of Latin did, but was written with an apostrophe because the writers knew there was a missing l?

A spammer-bot - that's a relief. Thanks for letting me know. I was worried that I might have remembered someone else's English translation that I'd heard sung sometime between 1968 and 1971 (I spent some holiday time in Italy in each of those 4 years, with a lot of contact with Italian and english musicians, so may well have heard an English version back then) and forgotten about since, but now I guess he/it just copied the words from my translation (particularly since it would actually be extremely difficult to fit the words of my translation to the music and sing it so it wasy very unlikely that I'd heard it sung).

The lyrics were writen by Giovanni Capurro towards the end of the 19th century. The music is by Eduardo di Capua.

Although the language is some sort of Italian it's not standard Italian; apparently it's Neapolitan, which surprises me as it seems much more like Italian than the Neapolitan of some other songs.

I picked a video from a Polish festival because it includes the second stanza. Almost every video of this song on youtube has only the first and the third stanzas, often with repeats of the refrain and/or the third stanza to make it up to a sensible length, which seems a bit stupid when leaving the middle out. when I first heard this song I heard all three stanzas and I grew to like it like that.
