Quo Vadis

Will ich zuviel,

Quo vadis?

Quo vadis?

Der Glaube, die Sünde, die Liebe, der Hass
Was noch nicht passt, wird passend gemacht

Quo vadis?

Quo vadis?

Und ich frage mich,
ich frage mich, wo geht es hin?

Quo vadis?

Wo geht es hin?
Wo geht es hin?

The song is in German, but "Quo vadis" is Latin for "Where are you going?"

Quo Vadis

Stormy time, icy wind
My gaze focused forward
though I don't know where
The world is still turning
though it seems to me that it's turning back

Show me the way, without a goal
I'm searching for your heart
I want too much
The world is still turning and so much makes sense
But I ask myself
I ask myself, where is it going?

Quo vadis?1

Man and machine, work and pay
Love creates people, daughter and son
We're in this world,
do we need to understand life?

Bend the steel, melt the stone
You give of yourself and are not alone
The world is still turning there, alone
But I ask myself,
I ask myself, where is it going?

Quo vadis?

Faith, sin, love, hate
What doesn't yet fit will be made to fit

Quo vadis?

Quo vadis?

And I ask myself,
I ask myself, where is it going?

Quo vadis?

Where is it going?
Where is it going?

I don't know what "You give of yourself " means,
but "Du gibst dich hin" has to do with "sich hingeben" , "Hingebung"
which means "to be devoted" , "devotion" or dedicated, dedication.

Everything else is perfect.

Thank you!

"You give of yourself" means to devote yourself to something, to give your time and energy.

I could have said "You devote yourself," but we wouldn't usually say that in English without saying specifically what you are devoting yourself to. For example, "She devotes herself to her work."

But to "give of one's self" is more general and using that wording also kept the same rhythm of the German verse.
