Things We Said Today

I'm mostly learning Russian through songs, and this poetic translation is awesome to help me with that Regular smile
Thanks very much Igor, you did great!

That's awesome! What's your favourite song from the Beatles, Igor? Regular smile

It's really a good way to begin, as songs help to memorize fast new words. They keep appearing multiple times, and it's also very important to begin with pronunciation.
For example, when I first learned Russian, I did not quite understand the sound difference between ы and и. We only have one sound for i in French, or so it seems to me. Same thing happened for the letters with ь. But as I listened to many many songs, and watched videos explaining these stuff, I began to hear the differences clearly, and my pronunciation improved incredibly fast compared to friends studying languages with books.
The rest came along with the pronunciation. It became even easy to spot when the letter о was pronunced а, and I could guess by instinct how to say some words I didn't even know. Songs do hold a powerful part in studying languages!

As for the translation, I did not have the chance to see it yet, I'm going to check that right away! Regular smile

Igor, I'm glad you have the same approach for learning languages. Your poetic style is quite impressive too, it's some next level learning Regular smile

As for the Beatles, I almost wrote "What's your favourite song from them? If you have one", because I know very well the struggle of having to chose only one song over dozens. It's often impossible haha! I'm going to check your links asap.

Since you shared this, I'm also sharing my collection. (Hopefully, I'm planning on doing another collection soon.) It's about motivational lyrics. I tried to include Russian ones too, but there's a lot of English. https://lyricstranslate.com/en/collection/motivational-songs
