You're Everywhere

সংস্করণ: #1#2
I sit on your Couch,
You've shown your cards,
I know what's coming,
and I loose myself in your eyes...

I look out of the window and listen to you, how you say it
and the clock, how slowly it's ticking.
A rescue is not in sight, because this isn't about me
You're rambling on and you make a clean sweep,
You're challenging me,
I can see it in your face,
You want to know what I want,
you know, I don't even know myself...

It reminds me of many things,
but you know, that has nothing to do with it.
I take my jacket and I go outside,
into the city, she laughs and you're everywhere.

You mean that we were together,
you know from the start, I just went along with it.
You're right, I remember.
You fought for me,
and when I think more about it,
how long it's already been, then I get dizzy...

But accepted, it wasn't so difficult, to come here,
Nevertheless, we managed it.
It reminds me of so many things,
But that has nothing to do with it,
and this city is too small,
because she's laughing and you're everywhere,
you're everywhere, you're everywhere...

And if I'm never going to think of another again,
I only want you to know that I won't forget that too quickly,
Because something's staying as well, if we never see each
other again, for always and forever, for always and forever...

It reminds me of many things,
But that hasn't got anything to do with it,
I take my jacket and I go outside,
the city laughs and you're everywhere, you're everywhere,
you're everywhere...

This is my first translation! I'd appreciate any feedback you have (good or bad!). I tried my best and it took a long time, I've just finished my GCSE German but I wanted to push myself. Hope you like it and I'm truly sorry if it's rubbish! Hopefully I'll improve in the future!

Not completely bad but you have misunderstood quite a lot.
I can write you a longer comment on it later.
Just on the first paragraph:
I think in the first line "I'm sitting" would fit better.

"du gibst die Karten aus" means "you deal out the cards".

In the third line you forgot the negation: " I don't know what's coming,".
Also, I'm not completely sure whether you translation of that line really means the same as the german line. The german line means "I don't know what will happen (in the near future)" or, in the context of the situation "I don't now which cards I'll receive".

The 4th line ain't right, too, it means something like
"I hide myself (with)in your look/glance/gaze".

Sciera thank you! I appreciate the comment! Regular smile If you could write all the corrections within the song translation that would be much obliged! :'D

That's a lot of work... you owe me one. Could you, in return, proofread one of my translations?

"I look out of the window and listen to you saying something
and (I hear) the clock ticking slowly."

"A rescue is not in sight, because this isn't about me"
That first half sounds pretty strange, is that really the way an English native would express that? I'd rather expect something like "No rescue in sight"

The rest of that paragraph is fine, ecxept for
but I don't even know it myself..."

3rd paragraph:

"mir fällt sovieles ein," means "there's so many things springing to my mind"

"but they [the things springing to my mind] have nothing to do with it." (why "you know"? The German line doesn't imply something like that at all)

"I take my jacket and I go home,"

"the city, it's shining and everywhere are you."

4th paragraph:

"You say that we were together,"

"but from the start, I just went along with it."
(not sure about the second half myself, but should be more or less right)

"and when I think about" (no "more" in the German line)

5th paragraph:

"just assuming it wasn't quite that difficult to reach me,"

"we still would have managed it.
(or "would we still have managed it?" - the German line is a bit ambiguous)

"and this city becomes too small for me,"

6th paragraph:
"And albeit I won't change anything about it anymore (the German line has a grammar mistake, it probably must be "werd(e)" instead of "wird"; gonna correct that)

"I only want you to know that I won't forget that too quickly," is correct but to my non-native ears "just" seems to fit better than "only".

"Because it's something that will stay even if we never see each
other again, for always and forever, for always and forever..."
