And what about the riddle with scales and marble blocks? I can't see it anymore. Did anyone solve this interesting problem?

That's a classic mathematical problem that is an embarrassment for mathematicians, since the solution is terribly messy and very hard to formalize.
The only beautiful result in this mess is that information theory tells us the number of guesses needed to identify the odd marble in a set of arbitrary size.

Good, now be a good birthday girl and find the solution to this numerical sequence:

259, 131, 67, 35, 19, ...(it's actually quite easy)

I know it, but I won't answer, because I have no birthday tomorrow and I'm not a girl. Obviously, it wasn't directed at me...

Oh, yeah, I think I know this one.

We put three marbles on each side of the scale and leave two off. If one side is heavier than the other then we narrow it down to and we compare two. If they are the same weight, then the one we left off is the heaviest. If one is heavier than the other, then we’ve found it. But if the pairs of three are equal, then the heaviest marble is one of the two we have not yet used. So, we compare them.

I know the answer, but since it's Maria's riddle, I won't post it.

Riddle 1:
Voiceless it cries,
Wingless flutters,
Toothless bites,
Mouthless mutters.

Riddle 2:
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes out first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.

Riddle 3:
Alive without breath,
As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,

Riddle 4:
This thing all things devours;
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats mountain down.

add 3, then divide by 2. Or, as a math freak would put it: Un+1 = (Un + 3) / 2

Btw. the riddle about guessing fruits in boxes is actually based on pretty advanced mathematics.
Counting the number of permutations that leave a given number of elements in place is anything but a trivial problem.
The only obvious results are that there is only one permutation that leaves the whole set unchanged and that you can't have only one element moved (which allows to solve the riddle easily).

One rather surprising result of this combinatronics study is that you have slightly more chances to guess one fruit than none at all.

A doctor and a bus driver are both in love with the same woman, an attractive girl named Sarah. The bus driver had to go on a long bustrip that would last a week. Before he left, he gave Sarah seven apples. Why?

A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me \$50, but if I cannot, I will pay you \$50." The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less. In the end the boy ended up paying the man \$50. How did the man win the bet?

Okay, here is the solution of my mega-riddle about song titles (comment #378):
Bold printed text passages are the song titles, normal text passages in round brackets are the artists who sang the songs (sometimes, there are more artists singing songs with the same title, but I only took the ones that I used for my quiz), and italic printed text passages in curly brackets are additional words I had to write for a fluent text. Enjoy!
