And This Is For You

I've been waiting for you for so long
I don't have the time to believe in the spring anymore
When you left, we were only just 20 years old
It wasn't that long ago
Even if we never get back lost time
Even if I remained alone with my regrets
Even if lost time is completely lost from now on
I know well that I would wait for you
Chorus: Cause it's for you that I stayed there
Cause it's for you, you who didn't love me
If you returned from the end of your illusions
To revive the flower of this home
If you returned to warm the love that's dying
I would believe in happiness again
There's only you that's waking up the spring
When it's too cold, when the wind blows
There's only you that knows how to turn love
Into a new happiness everyday
And you will come back to throw yourself in my arms
As before, come on, remember
When you will be there, love will know you
And it will be time to love again

"Si le temps perdu ne se rattrapait jamais," --> Meaning that they can't get back the time they lost. I'll let you come up with the English version Wink smile

"If lost time is completely lost from now on" --> I would have used 'really' instead of 'completely', but you're probably the better judge between us two Regular smile

"Il n’y a que toi" --> (There's) only you

"Et le temps d’aimer reviendra" --> A'nd it will be time to love again'?

waiting for you for a long time -> maybe "for so long" ?

we were only 20 years old -> here "juste" has the same meaning as "à peine" (only just?)

If there's lost time that we don't get back -> the meaning is more like "even if we never get back lost time / even if I remain alone..."

you that's waking up in the spring -> It's the guy who wakes up the spring

that knows how to love a new happiness every day -> more like "turn love into a new happiness..." (like if love was the stuff happiness is made of)

dis, rappelle-toi -> "dis" is hard to translate as is. It's more like something you say when you want someone to share your point of view. Literaly you put your words in the other person's mouths.
When you say "dis, tu es d'accord ?" it's like "come on, say you're OK".
I don't know if "say" has the same meaning.

"say" doesn't really carry that context. When it's used it in that way it generally preceeds a question but it's hard to translate what it means in that sense. If we stick with your example "say, are you ok?" it would mean something like "hey, are you ok?" The best way to describe it is it's like you're trying to bring attention to the question you're about to ask.

Yes, I thought there was a difference, but thanks to you it's clear now.

Even iff I -> typo
waking up in the spring -> still a 'in' too many
come one -> typo

Soon some proofreaders will show up on my Russian version, and then I shall know a torment far worse than you ever experienced with my nitpickings.
