New problem: on the French interface, on someone's profile, a text appears instead of the languages the person speaks natively, fluently and has studied.

The translations of some phrases seem to have disappeared:

Would it be possible to make the following strings available for translation?

  • the Getting Started tab header
  • the More information about text formats link and everything on the page it leads to
  • the Switch to rich text editor button
  • the Add a footnote and Video filter buttons in the rich text editor
  • all musical genres
  • the Comment header displayed when writing a new comment
  • the link button at the bottom of a forum post

I have also noticed, on several occassions, that a text string had disappeared affter it had been translated. Such is the case with the quote button and the Drafts page, for example. It happens quite often that I come across a mistranslation that I have no means of correcting, or that I come up with a way to improve an old translation of mine but have no way of doing so. The items seem to be getting removed at random. Is this done by accident or on purpose?

Thanks for changing most of the Turkish language names I wrote about. But there are also these others that haven't been changed, which I guess have been missed. The most important ones include the Romani & Romanian pair, which should be switched around, but I think the others should be considered too.

Also, I believe Sesotho and Sotho are the same language (a Google search shows so), and they should be merged.

Name in English: Current translation → Should be translated as

Afrikaans: Afrikan dili → Afrikaans
Cebuano: Sabuanca → Sebuanca
Crimean Tatar: Kırım Tatarca → Kırım Tatarcası
Dutch (Middle Dutch): Flemenkçe (Orta Flemenkçe) → Felemenkçe (Orta Felemenkçe)
Inuktitut: Inuktitut → İnuitçe
Mixtec: Mixtec → Mikstekçe
Romani: Rumence→ Romanca
Romanian: Romanca → Rumence
Romanian (Aromanian): Rumence (Arumence) → Rumence (Ulahça)
Somali: Somali dili → Somalice
Thai: Tay dili → Tayca
Tsonga (Changana): Tsonga (Changana) → Tsongaca
Zapotek: Zapotek: → Zapotekçe

In addition, there are these ones I missed.

Ainu: Ainu → Aynuca
Guaraní: Guaraní → Guaranice
Kurdish (Sorani): Kürtçe (Soranice) → Kürtçe (Sorani)
Tatar: Tatarca → Kazan Tatarcası

Most of the erroneous translations of language names I reported now appear to be fixed, which is great. Only a few urgent ones remain:

"Thai" appears as "TaycaTsonga" now while it should've been just "Tayca".

Also, "Romani" isn't renamed as "Romanca", so now there appears to be two different "Rumence"s on the list. "Romanian" should be "Rumence" (so no change there), but "Romani" should be "Romanca" or "Çingenece".

There are some other ones that weren't changed, but those are not that important.

‘Malaysia’ should be translated as ‘Malaisie’ in French, not ‘Malaysie’.
Apparently, I can’t correct it myself through the translation interface tool.

There occurs a problem when translating "Country" on any artist page:

This word is used for both the nation where the artist lives and for the music genre. And it only appears once in the Interface Tool, although it needs to be translated with two different words (e.g. in German). Example:

When I translate "Country" with "Land" (for nation) into German, then it also appears in the music genre field as "Land" though it should be "Country" here.

Can these two "Country" terms be added is separate strings?

Among the English texts there are more and more German words (mainly language names: Albanisch, Arabisch, Aserbaidschanisch etc.). Why are these names placed in the English source text? And what about the texts in different languages? Should I translate only English here? For example one of the page texts:

on turkish page when you click on the votes to see the details its written gönderildiği tarih:... month ... hafta

first: month should be ay
second: 3 ay 2 hafta format is not suitable for tarih(date), 3 ay 2 hafta önce(before) could be a better way to say that

I'd love to help Lyricstranslate translate the site into turkish, so let me know if any help is needed

In the right top corner. It used to work some time before, now it doesn't. Hope it can be fixed. I really need sometimes to switch the interface to write in languages that have a different writing orientation system.

BTW, in case this would be the right place to mention it :
- when I look at the (French) list of my own translations, I can see that only the word "Slovène" (Slovenian) is written with a capital first letter, while all other languages are written in lowercase. It's a very tiny detail (but perhaps there are other language names in the same case).

(And there was something else, more annoying, but I forgot what, I'll tell you when I find it again). Thank you!

[@Andrew Parfen] Unfortunately, we can't reproduce it. Where does it occur, on your desktop or mobile?

[@Andrew Parfen] We confirm there's a bug with the switcher in the top menu. Could you use the switcher at the bottom temporarily?
