Chase the Sun

I'm flying away
Running like the wind
As I chase the sun
Up spinning around
Circles in my mind
Sailing over ground.

Übersetzung

Gonię za Słońcem

Odlatuję
Biegnąc jak wiatr
Gdy gonię za słońcem
Kręci się
Kręci mi się w głowie
Żegluję po niebie

How were you able to translate to Polish? It's not listed among the languages you know.
Unfortunately your translation has many mistakes.

It allows people to translate something into whatever language, even if it's not listed in the user's profile.
Does it really? Can you tell me what I did wrong? ^_^;

True but it does not look good to translate into a language that isn't listed on your profile. You should add all the other languages you are studying.

You're right, but if you don't list it in your profile, people might think it's a GT translation, which is not allowed on LT.

● "Lecę z dala" means "I fly from far away". It's the exact opposite of what the original says. A much simpler translation would be "odlatuję";

● For the second verse, I'm not sure you can use "biec" when speaking about the wind. That's up to a native to judge;

● You should put a full stop at the end of the third verse, otherwise people can't really tell if the sentence is supposed to be "odlatuję [...] gdy gonię [...]" or "gdy gonię [...] kręcę się";

● "kręci się wokół" sounds incomplete. Also "kręci" is a third person singular, here it still refers to a first person. A simple "kręcę się" is enough;

● "Kołować" is a verb, while "circles" in the original is a noun. Also "głowa" is feminine, so it should be "w mojej głowie", not "w mojego". Remember that you need the locative with "w" not the genitive. That said, the sentence doesn't make much sense if translated literally. If I correctly understood the meaning here, I'd suggest "kręci mi się w głowie";

● Again "sailing" is a verb, while "żeglowanie" is a noun-verb. Also "po ziemi" means "all around the world", while what the song says is that they're sailing on air. I'd suggest: "żegluję po niebie" or "żegluję nad ziemią".

I'd suggest to ask a native as well though.

Sorry for a late reply, but thank you a bunch! And okay, I didn't think about if some people would think it's a Google Translate if it's not listed, I'll keep that in mind
