Bitter love, rejection or jealousy

Von swedensour am 15 Mär 2019 erstellt | Zuletzt von swedensour am 18 Mär 2019 bearbeitet

In this collection, I'm compiling songs that deal with a few broad, yet somewhat related topics, all dealing with some kind of bitterness in love. These can pertain to jealousy, rejection or just generally unhappy with how the relationship went. As long as it's in the past, it's good Regular smile
any genre, any language welcome, as well as profanity.

"Lemon eyes" is a term used in English to describe the look a lover gives you when they're jealous or unsure of how they stand with you

In this song she has a very powerful way of conveying the emotion

In this song Little Jinder is upset that she wanted someone but he wanted someone who she thinks is more ugly and boring than she is

Eminem wrote this song after he surprised his wife Kim cheating on him with another guy in his house. He wrote this song because he needed to express himself about how he felt and to vent his anger. Fun fact: Kim heard this song for the first time during an Eminem concert.
- Jethro Paris

Eminem never really said to whom this music was dedicated. Actually, he never really talked about this music at all. It may even be pure fiction. But there is a theory that his fans thinks about. This song would be dedicated to Kim. It is obvious that Eminem never stopped loving Kim: He never stopped talking about her in his songs, remarried her for a short time, never had a serious relationship with someone else after her, even their relatives can't know where they stand today.

Song talks about the end of a relationship and the will of one of the people involved to destroy the other.

This is from the point of a jilted girl, Elphaba, against Glinda and her then boyfriend Fiyero (characters in the musical 'Wicked'). Elphaba was victim to prejudice (kind of racist) because of her green skin and witchy abilities.

I think a bit of both, honestly. Maybe they're conflicted. They're hurt, but also glad it's over

FYI zarina01 has 3 collections on unrequited love
-->httpss://lyricstranslate.com/en/collection/unrequited-love-vol-3

Maybe unrequited means they never got together, but yours focuses on used-to-be's

swedensourswedensour    Fr, 15/03/2019 - 03:27

Oops. I want mine to focus more on what used to be, rather than unrequited love, I guess.

BreezyDayBreezyDay    Fr, 15/03/2019 - 03:19

Have you tried typing jealousy into the search box? Just a thought

swedensourswedensour    Fr, 15/03/2019 - 03:21

I did and it didn’t come up with anything when I searched but my work computer hasn’t been working right all day Why , is this a common collection? I can take mine down haha

BreezyDayBreezyDay    Fr, 15/03/2019 - 03:39

No but if the word is in the title (of the song not a collection), you'll probably find several.

swedensourswedensour    Fr, 15/03/2019 - 03:52

I really like the lyrics for the Chris Isaak song, actually. I might give it a listen

But for the song by The Cure, I feel like he's more forlorn than actually bitter.

BreezyDayBreezyDay    Fr, 15/03/2019 - 04:08

I understand. It's hard for me to differentiate sometimes. Yes, blue Spanish sky is nice, even if you don't put it in your collection

BreezyDayBreezyDay    Fr, 15/03/2019 - 04:53

I can't sleep. Thy to think of soul/blues and opera too. Those genres create some gutteral misery, if anyone does.

swedensourswedensour    Fr, 15/03/2019 - 04:58

Looking for soul or blues would be a good idea. I'm thinking of expanding this more toward just being hurt or pissed off in general, rather than specifically bitter, makes it easier.

Maybe ask ingirumimusnocte, he's got a taste for complex music

I planned to make this collection one day, really glad you did it before me! Teeth smile I got two songs in mind right now but will definetely add more later Wink smile

Eminem - Kim
Probably the most intense bitter love song I ever heard. Eminem wrote this song after he surprised his wife Kim cheating on him with another guy in his house. He wrote this song because he needed to express himself about how he felt and to vent his anger. Fun fact: Kim heard this song for the first time during an Eminem concert. Enjoy Kim lol.
.Eminem - Love You More
Eminem never really said to whom this music was dedicated. So personally, I think this song is dedicated to Kim. And I find it as intense as Kim personally. So dark, I love this song!

Thank you Jethro Paris, I'll get these added.

These are very dark lol, but I feel like it embodies the bitterness that I want, but also just the right amount of hurt as well. Excellent contributions.

Really glad you liked the songs! Love You More was my favorite Eminem song for a while haha ^^

swedensourswedensour    Mo, 18/03/2019 - 00:29

I haven't really listened to Eminem in years because I usually just don't listen to rap, haha. But I didn't know about these songs.

Jethro ParisJethro Paris    Mo, 18/03/2019 - 00:32

Well actually, Eminem was the one that made me into rap haha ^^ He got so many interresting songs! If you want, you should give a listen to "Like Toy Soldiers" "Hailie's Song" and "Headlights", I'm sure you might like them Wink smile

swedensourswedensour    Mo, 18/03/2019 - 00:33

I heard Like Toy Soldiers back when it came out, I think I was in middle school? I remember liking it back then. But I'll check out the other two, thanks!

swedensourswedensour    Mo, 18/03/2019 - 00:41

Ah, okay I was 8 in 2004 hahahaha so it was much earlier than I thought.

Jethro ParisJethro Paris    Mo, 18/03/2019 - 00:45

Oh well, I was 8 too haha! I never forgot this song playing all day to the TV  Teeth smile

swedensourswedensour    Mo, 18/03/2019 - 00:49

Then we're about the same age, haha. It was definitely very popular when it came out but Eminem's music often is.

Btw I did like Headlights!

Jethro ParisJethro Paris    Mo, 18/03/2019 - 01:01

I'm happy you liked Headlights! I think a lot of peoples can understand how Eminem feels in that song.
Actually, Eminem always dissed his mom from the day he got famous, in several songs. "Cleaning Out My Closet" is probably the best example (the song he referred several times in Headlights) and that song was really violent. So when he released Headlights, it was really unexpected and emotional ^^

swedensourswedensour    Mo, 18/03/2019 - 01:02

I like how personal he is in his songs, honestly. It sets him apart from the usual rappers imo.
