YOLO

We live only one, one, one time
We live once, hear [us], right here and now
Every evening is like Saturday, every day is hardcore
We live once, do you hear [us]?
This is YOLO, YOLO, YOLO

People are robots, working hard like slaves at work
Some by experience, some just to last until Saturday
People are droids digging problems, troubles
They are networked by their trunks
Frames, obsolete programs are scattered
We need funk and house, disco-dance
Dances multiply the chances of life

Only one, one, one time
We live once, hear [us], right here and now
Every evening is like Saturday, every day is hardcore
We live once, do you hear [us]?
This is YOLO, YOLO, YOLO

People are viruses, people are apocalypses
On-on each other, like wild dogs
People are clones, bowing, heads without ideas
Their friends, friends of friends
People don't like unsociable people
Frames, obsolete programs will fail
We need funk and house, disco-dance
Dances multiply the chances of life

Only one, one, one time
We live once, hear [us], right here and now
Every evening is like Saturday, every day is hardcore
We live once, do you hear [us]?
This is YOLO, YOLO, YOLO
We live only one, one, one time
We live once, hear [us], right here and now
Every evening is like Saturday, every day is hardcore
We live once, do you hear [us]?
This is YOLO, YOLO, YOLO

слышишь -> rather "you hear me?" (as an emphasis)

Кто на опыте, кто из последних до субботы -> "кто..., кто..." is rather "some do this, others do that"
Not quite sure what the sentence means though. "some are regulars, others are among the last [partying] on Saturdays" ???

Igeethecat    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 05:59

I would say ‘listen’ or ‘listen, dude’, but I am not 18, so, who knows how is it now days...

Насчёт субботы, something is not quite right in original lyrics, I think

petit élève    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 06:04

I'm not 18 either, but "you hear me" seems like a timeless classic Regular smile

I'd be happy to get the meaning of this mysterious sentence, wrong transcription or not. I just can't wrap my head around it.

Igeethecat    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 06:07

The one hear and see the transcription about Saturday is “Каждый вечер как суббота, каждый день - хардкор”

petit élève    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 06:14

I was rather thinking of "Кто на опыте, кто из последних до субботы".
Unfortunately the vid doesn't seem to work in France so I can't listen to the song, but that should not really sound like "Каждый вечер как суббота, каждый день - хардкор", I guess.
Anyway, my capacity to understand spoken Russian is rather limited, so a properly working vid probably wouldn't help much.

Igeethecat    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 06:19

Oh, French thing again, LOL
But believe me this is what it is, unless if you want second opinion...

petit élève    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 06:28

you mean ""Кто на опыте, кто из последних до субботы" is just a delirious transcription and they actually repeat the same sentence about working days being hardcore?

Igeethecat    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 06:36

Maybe they used GT... maybe even more than once??? It seems to be popular now days.. LOL

petit élève    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 06:38

I'm all at sea, there. I'll try to find a proper vid and listen to the song, then maybe I'll see if that bloody sentence actually exists.

Igeethecat    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 06:51

Ok , I listen to the one that is posted on LT
There is some crap in the beginning that it is not translated... maybe this is why you are off?
But then is what i hear and what in trans

Живём один, один, один только раз
Живём один раз, слышишь, прямо здесь и сейчас
——And then the line in question, about Saturday
Каждый вечер как суббота, каждый день - хардкор
Живём один раз, слышишь?

petit élève    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 07:00

What about this one?

at 1:08 you hear "Кто на опыте, кто из последних" followed by a robotic voice saying something that can possibly have "суббота" in it Regular smile
So the sentence boils down to "Кто на опыте, кто из последних", which could mean "some are experienced, some are among the last", though I'm not sure "на опыте" really means that.

Igeethecat    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 07:04

Sorry to disappoint you, my friend, but I heard exactly what the lyrics said

petit élève    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 07:11

I'm not disappointed, I'm rather relieved.
OK, so my question is: what does this "Кто на опыте, кто из последних до субботы" sentence actually mean? Regular smile

Green_Sattva    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 07:48

Я слышу: "Кто на отпыте, кто из последних выжил"

Green_Sattva    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 10:40

Еще раз послушала и теперь четко слышу "До субботы"
Странно...

Igeethecat    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 08:22

First, my apologies, I was looking at the wrong суббота ( I was looking at the first verse and couldn’t understand what is wrong with it, my bad, I am sorry)

Now, I timed it, and I believed that the line in the question is the second one below , but the first below connects them to make a sense :

Люди - роботы, пашут как рабы на работах
Кто на опыте, кто из последних до субботы

Пашут (тяжело работают) == hard working
Кто на опыте == some by experience
кто из последних [сил/денег???] до субботы == some just to survive until weekend

petit élève    Mi, 18/04/2018 - 09:00

Ah ok. That makes more sense.
Basically "some are used to it (so they can stand it), some are exhausted by it", right?
Not the easiest sentence to get, really.

Brat    Do, 19/04/2018 - 14:38

It's surely this idiom, though truncated. I think, one of the editors should insert a link to it into the original lyrics.

Igeethecat    Do, 19/04/2018 - 05:09

The link doesn’t work. Would be very interesting to know the idiom:) thanks

Brat    Do, 19/04/2018 - 14:40

Oh, I just forgot to surround the idiom's name with quotation marks. Teeth smile Now it's working. Regular smile

P-Code    Do, 19/04/2018 - 04:56

Actually, I think the first line is supposed to be "MOZGI Entertainment". This is the record label that Время и Стекло are signed to.

Igeethecat    Do, 19/04/2018 - 05:40

Живём один раз, слышишь, прямо здесь и сейчас
Few comments on this line:
1. Since the name of the song is an acronym I both languages (awesome) - ЖОР «живём/живёшь один раз» = YOLO ‘you only live once’, I would put ‘you only live once’ into a translation at least once (in this line or other, does not matter; personally, I would use it in all lines), it would be closer to the original (they spell it out;)
2. Even though they say it in plural, you don’t have to do the same, “you” sounds more natural in English
3. Слышишь - IMHO, would be better ‘listen’, or ‘listen, dude’ to be more urban:)
4. прямо здесь и сейчас - wouldn’t you say ‘right here and right now” in English?
