I have to disagree - landlord rents/lends his property to his tenants - in this song it is quite opposite :). At least how I understand it

"amo" is not specific, only the context makes believe that it is the "terrateniente"

I didn't have a problem in my Polish translation, because we have a word "latyfundysta", which means "the owner of the latifundium". Sadly all English equivalents are much longer.

Если проблемы с 'an owner', то кто мешает использовать словарь синонимов? Вариант с 'a landlord' мне нравится, но я контекста оригинала не знаю.

Так в том-то и проблема, что синонимы можно навтыкать как за здрастье, но чтобы они в контексте смысл имели - вот в чем проблема

Если крестьяне, то они же не просто так работают на земле, а кому-то же платят за то, что им позволено работать на чей-либо земле? Считаю, что 'a landlord' подходит.
Другое дело,отличается ли этот 'the boss' из перевода от привычного мне понятия 'помещик'...
