As pointed out in the other comment, there is a part missing. Here are the full lyrics, with perhaps some holes in the missing part:

Can someone help me complete the transcription?

[@Flora Lama], αν σε βοηθάει σε κάτι, αυτό που ακούω είναι:
Θα γίνω θεός
Και θα κρατώ της νύχτας τα άστρα
Σαν θα γεννιέται φως δυνατό τη νύχτα
Καρδιά μου

[@MickG], your willingness to help us with the missing lyrics is much appreciated.
Unfortunately, I don't see how that would even be possible when the only valid Greek words I see among your
suggestions is the verb form "θα κρατώ". No offence, but all the rest written between those brackets is actually
gibberish and unnecessary timestamps.

Ελπίζω να μην έχω κάνει κάποιο λάθος.
Όπως και να 'χει, θα συμπληρώσω τους ελληνικούς στίχους έτσι ώστε να μπορέσεις να κάνεις
τις απαραίτητες αλλαγές στην μετάφρασή σου.

Κι εσύ να είσαι καλά.
Να έχεις μια όμορφη μέρα..

The intention was to point to where in the video the parts were, and try to capture what I could hear. γνώμας is actually not Gibberish, just Ancient Greek or archaic Modern Greek (accusative plural of γνώμη, I've seen accusative plurals in -as in Αλλού να μ' αγαπάς). If I'd been able to make sense of those sounds, they wouldn't have been in brackets or followed by question marks :).

I compared your transcription with what I can hear:

1. I still hear θα γίνω αέρας rather than Θα γίνω θεός;
2. I now hear τα άστρα;
3. Between Σαν θα γεννιέται φως and τη νύχτα, I hear a whisper than sounds something like είναι αλλιέτα το; not sure how you managed to hear δυνατό; I can imagine that there could be a δυν- whispered over the -λιέτ- I'm hearing; in fact, listening again, I'm hearing something like κρ- over that τ-, meaning it sounds like κρατώ; perhaps είναι/είμαι αγέρ(ας) superimposed with κρατώ, in fact; there are definitely two voices there, one saying είναι/είμαι αγέρ…, the other one saying κρατώ, with the κρ- superimposed with -ρ; the είναι/είμαι is some kind of laurel/yanny situation where I sometimes hear one and some other times the other; considering θα γίνω αέρας, perhaps είμαι αγέρας and κρατώ; repetitions of random bits of this verse? Hmm… I don't think I can make that είναι/είμαι into a γίνω, the final vowel definitely doesn't sound like ω; all of this is at 1:52-1:55, if you want to listen to that; I've played those three seconds way too many times now :); and after relistening several times, I now almost hear κύμα, αγέρας;
4. I hear Καρδιά μου, as you transcribed.

ΚακομάζαληΚακομάζαλη    Mo, 18/10/2021 - 14:51

"ι αλλιέτα το" ???
Anyway....I've read carefully your comments and after listening to the song once again, i came up with this transliteration. Thank you both!

Θα γίνω αέρας
Και θα κρατώ της νύχτας την ανάσα
Σαν θα γεννιέται φως θα κρατώ τη νύχτα
Καρδιά μου

@MickG, I happen to be familiar with the word "γνώμας", thank you. What I'm not familiar with is the term "archaic Modern Greek". Correct me if I'm wrong, but I suppose you are reffering to Koine Greek or Katharevousa. In any case, the word is not in use in Standard Modern Greek: the language the song we are trying to "decipher" here is written into. So, yes, "γνώμας" is not gibberish. It's simply irrelevant.

About the timestamps... Whether I understand your good intentions or not, the fact that they are completely unnecessary - in the vast majority of cases if not all - remains. Especially when [@Flora Lama] had already provided us with the only timestamp needed. Keeping things simple and focused, on the other hand, usually works wonders.

When it comes to the actual transcription:
1. The singer seems to sing a two-syllable word, "αέρας" is a three-syllable one. Also the intonation of the word "αέρας" doesn't match with what I hear. Perhaps it's a matter of pronunciation. However, since both you and @Flora Lama hear "αέρας", I have no reason to doubt it.
2. I think that @Flora Lama is correct in her last comment. I can hear " την ανάσα".
3. Do you really have to wonder how I managed to hear the word "δυνατό" when you are hearing a non-existent phrase with the same ending? 🤔
Anyway, I don't hear "θα κρατώ" (as Flora suggests) either but just like you, I've listened to the song too many times to have a clear "view" at the moment.

[@Flora Lama], θα ήθελες να δώσουμε λίγο χρόνο ή περνώ στην διόρθωση των στίχων;

So that idiom page is BS and should be removed, right?

ΚακομάζαληΚακομάζαλη    Do, 21/10/2021 - 07:59

hehe it's interesting how the meaning of the words changes...in ancient greek καιρός meant " favorable condition, opportunity" what in modern greek we mean by saying " ευκαιρία"

ΚακομάζαληΚακομάζαλη    Mi, 20/10/2021 - 22:07

Time with all the bad luck and difficulties it might bring along. " Bad weather" actually.
( in this context).

About the idiom... So "καιρὸς δέ" isn't an idiom but "πάει καιρός" is? If I change the idiom, will the translations still be correct?

MickGMickG    Fr, 22/10/2021 - 13:24

Πάει καιρός means "long ago", "it's been a long time". I haven't looked at all the translations on the idiom page, but the English one IIRC was correct for πάει καιρός.

UPDATE

I checked out the translations. So:

– English: It's been ages (since we met); I say remove the bracket, I don't think it's specific to meeting someone ages prior to using the idiom; indeed, I have this example in a "Sappho rework" song: «Πάει καιρός που κάποτε / Σ' αγάπησα, Ατθίδα», «It's been ages since I loved you, Atthis»; one could add "it's been (quite) a while" and "it's been a hot minute" as other translations;
– French: faire un bail; I suspect the idiom would rather translate to "Ça fait un bail" than that infinitive;
– German: Lange nicht gesehen! Again, this German version sounds more specific than the original;
– Greek: (βρε βρε) χρόνια και ζαμάνια; I'll have to ping [@Flora Lama] on that one, but I suspect it's correct; if it is, capitalize the first βρε in the bracket;
– Italian: è (da)un (bel) pezzo che; correct, but write it as «È (da) un (bel) pezzo che»; one could add "È (da) una vita che" and "È (da) un sacco che" and "È (da) un'eternità che";
– Spanish: hace mucho tiempo desde; sounds about right; I wonder if there is a more colloquial expression, like "un (bel) pezzo" in Italian vs. "molto tempo";
– Turkish: Görüşmeyeli çok oldu! I don't speak Turkish, but from analyzing the phrase it seems to be in the same situation as the German, with görüșmeyeli = since we met, çok = very/much, oldu = it was / has been, so "It has been a lot [of time] since we met"; I do not know if "çok oldu" is a valid phrase, or if it means "It has been long" as I would expect.

ΚακομάζαληΚακομάζαλη    Fr, 22/10/2021 - 13:44

Görüşmeyeli çok oldu= It's been a long time since we last talked or seen each other
"Long time no see" , actually.

Bρε, βρε, χρόνια και ζαμάνια= you say that to someone when you see her/him after a long time. You may say " μαύρα μάτια κάναμε να σε δούμε" as well.

Πάει καιρός = it's been a long time, " way back"
