I've always heard that as imperative; as her telling the listener to dream a little dream of her.
However on re-reading I can't actually say for certain that's the intention. :)
Yes, it's not how I would read it - I would interpret it as the imperative everytime.
Yes 'linger' is a rather a whimsical, languorous word, nothing to do with dragging oneself along. More like wanting to remain in a particularly pleasant moment.

Yes, I always heard it as "dort" and then when I checked the printed lyrics in the book it had "dors" but I always suspected it was an error.
