Est Pasca 'e Nadale

Nie 'ido falare
Est Pasca 'e Nadale
Frittu, lughes iffora
Cras no ando a iscola

Su sole chi falat pro a nois
No podet caentare
S’amore at a fagher goi
Si l’as a donare

Ca como est
Pasca 'e Nadale
Prena de gioja e de serenidade
Umpare a mie
Podes brincare
E narrer a totus
Chi est tempus de istare
Umpare a chie
Cheret zogare
Chena banderas e disamistade

Babbos 'estidos in ruju
Sonan sas cornamusas
Presepios intro ‘e sas cresias
Castanza arrustu

Su chelu chi nos bizat
Nad’est su Sennore
Sa luche at a isplendere
in cantos de amore

Ca como est
Pasca 'e Nadale
Prena de gioja e de serenidade
Umpare a mie
Podes brincare
E narrer a totus
Chi est tempus de istare
Umpare a chie
Cheret zogare
Riende intro 'e sa felicidade (x2)

It’s Christmas

I see the snow falling down
It’s Christmas
Outside, cold and lights
Tomorrow I’m not going to school

The sunlight that falls on us
Can’t warm us up
Love will do it
If you will give it

Because now it’s
Christmas
Full of joy and serenity
With me
You can jump
And tell everyone
That it’s time to stay
With those who
Want to play
Without flags and hostilities

Santas dressed in red
Play the bagpipes
Nativity scenes in churches
Roasted chestnuts

The heaven is watching over us
The Lord is born
The light will shine
In love songs

Because now it’s
Christmas
Full of joy and serenity
With me
You can jump
And tell everyone
That it’s time to stay
With those who
Want to play
Laughing with happiness (x2)

You were a bit late with this translation, Marco. ;)

Nevertheless thanks for doing this one.

I only wonder where you can see snow falling down when in Sweden the temperatures are about 7 degrees Celsius or more. In Poland it's even 13 degrees. What a Christmas it was! Like never before.

Yes Andrzej, you’re right, I’m a bit late, only a few days, though. But I’ve already posted another Christmas carol this year and it’s a bit hard to find many songs of this kind since also last year I posted some of them.
Anyway, thanks for appreciating it :)

It’s a strange but pleasant winter. This morning I went by the sea to eat seafood outdoors in the sunshine. It’s rare in winter but it isn’t so strange if you live in Sardinia :)
In my city, that is near the seaside, I haven’t seen a single snowflake for 20 years at least, but this song is sung by mountain children... :)

As for the place where you live it's not surprising, but as for Poland it is. Last year we had exactly 3 days of snow. I enjoy driving on snow, especially in my Subaru with its permanent for wheel drive and last winter when I found a little time to train a bit it was all over. It's not only the missing snow, but also for more than a year we have been having hardly any rain.

There's only one good side of the story - I can spare a lot of costs of heating.

Well, that’s good for sparing on heating costs, anyway I’m terrified only at the idea of driving on snow, :O I never hazard to drive on mountain roads in the coldest winter days

Well, one can learn everything, though it’s not easy. I'm only afraid it will be difficult to find enough snow in Sardinia. ;)

Thank you my friend, you are always so kind to my country. :) But I think in Greece the weather mustn't be so different from Sardinia.
