Since moderator [@altermetax] was the last to recently edit it, perhaps they could have a look. If they don't mind.

With that in mind though, there are some complications. They've released a video in 2022 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9xN_o70nFE) with subtitle lyrics attached to it. Which has the current lyrics on there (apart from the 'swinging' correction).

With your first correction, although I can hear what you mean, what he seems to be singing is 'forever, ooh 'n ever' with a glottal stop or a voiceless d replacing the 'd' in the 'and' part. It sounds different because of the ooh forced in there making him having to shorten the 'and' to 'n. Also the singer is of German origin and there is a hint of German accent in the English that he sings, so that might affect what we hear. German like Polish and Dutch has terminal devoicing and so what should be a 'd' then turns into a 't' and then he swallows it.

The second correction I fully agree with and I also hear quite clearly, unfortunately in the video it says "So many adventures given up today" and he clearly sings "So many adventures couldn't happen today" (and in every other video I can find as well), so I'll leave this to altermetax to decide.

The third correction is almost correct apart from the 'we' as far as I can hear in this video and the others. It's 'Oh let them come true'. Again the lyrics attached to the linked youtube video have the current lyrics.

In the comments I also see 'fleeting horse' instead of 'fading horse' but in their later performances it really is sung as 'fading horse'.

Again, thanks for bringing this up and I'll await altermax's decision.

Alright, so: my opinion is that it's better to stick to the subtitles in the video as much as possible, since those are the official lyrics, unless they are very clearly wrong. Here's what I think:

• Forever and ever: I'd leave this the way it is, that's how everyone knows it, and it's how it's sung in every single cover. I'm inclined to say that the way it sounds in Alphaville's versions really has to do with a German accent, as breiz suggested.
• So many adventures given up today: I'd change it to "couldn't happen", since that is very clearly what it sounds like, even if the subtitles disagree. In the original version it's a bit less clear, but I think that's what it's supposed to be there too.
• So many dreams winging out of the blue: that's "swinging out" even in the video, so I'd definitely change it to that. It also makes more sense.
• Oh let it come true: I clearly hear "them", but I'm not entirely sure about the "we". I'd change it to "Oh, let them come true".
