Many thanks for your vote and glad that you like it. It is one of my favorite songs.Iconic song along with Titanic's song and many others :) Well, I will never understand to block somebody just because he or she gave to you corrections in a polite way or if someone says that you didn't do a good job... If everytime that my teachers said to me that I need to improve my skills and I had the power of blocking them. For sure, it would have been a nice semester ;) Or in your job when sometimes your boss said to you that you have to do it better, even if he or she didn't have reason, you (if you could do it) wouldn't have blocked him or her. If your boss has the reason go ahead, try to improve and always listen. If he or she didn't have the reason (most of the jobs happen) well just said ok I will do it and carry on with your job. But that's the real life. Here is not. Is Internet life. That's is not our jobs or school; it's just a hobby and there is no need to block anyone just for that. Even if someone insults you; just ignore that user and that's all.
Es muy cierto lo que dices. Si una traducción no es correcta en términos lingüísticos, te la van a corregir y punto.
Translations and thinks that are not translations are so and so important. You should make a decent job in all the aspects. Right, LT translations aren't as important as for e.g your diary duties. It's 100% better to make a disastrous translation than a disastrous exam or work. True that if I see an excellent translation like yours I will take off my hat or if I see a horrible translation I could be up in arms, but you can't compare it with an excellent work in your job or in an exam. If you make a translation without accents or with one star you can correct them and everything would be fine, but if you make a a disastrous action at work you often prejudiced many people. We shouldn't forget that we are always learning so if you receive corrections instead of thinking: "blocked bottom" you should think: "I'm learning"
Geborgenheit schreef:Es muy cierto lo que dices. Si una traducción no es correcta en términos lingüísticos, te la van a corregir y punto.
Cierto.
Dejando a un lado el uso de palabas innecesarias, haré un par de correcciones:
Primera eatrofa: "to be in your way" --> "Ser un estorbo" / '"obstáculo"
Estribillo;;
"Siempre te amaré
Tú, mi amado, tú" --> "a ti, mi amado; a ti"
"Es todo lo que me hallo" --> "Es todo ;o que me llevo"
Magnífico.
Tú has empleado los términos "Plañes" y "Acarreando" (palabras que no se usan con frecuencia en el Español), y ciertamente ha quedado muy bien.
Has articulado bien esta traducción. No soy experto, estoy empezando con esto de las traducciones, pero puedo ver el buen trabajo hecho. !Gracias¡
Many thanks for your vote and your words. Glad that you like it :) I used those words because in the case of "plañir" I didn't want to write "lloriquear or gimotear" for e.g. This song deserves poetical words. No, is not so common in Spanish to say "plañir" in Catalan I heard it sometimes but in Castilian language no so often. "Acarreando" yes you could. I mean not every day but you could hear it in sentences like: "Acarreas problemas". I see you study Hebrew. It's one of the languages I found that have an "attractive" sound just like Greek and some others
Claro, mucho gusto.
¿Has escuchado alguna vez la frase "Acarrea leña" o "Acarreate la leña"? jeje, quizá no. Son palabras más 'profundas' del español/castellano, y creo que "Acarreate" no existe en el Español como tal, por decirlo así, no existe en el diccionario de la RAE. "Acarreate" es una palabra inventada por los mismos nativos, aquí en donde yo vivo es muy común escucharlo entre los campesinos, ja;
El Hebreo es un idioma muy interesante, los sonidos de algunas palabras son muy distintivos como 'Shalom' 'Votajti', o frases como 'Ki gamal alai'...
Así también el Árabe y sus variantes, que podría decirse que es un poco más "díficil" de aprender...
Yes I have heard it :) I have Aragonese friends who grew up in rural area and they say it. Also, my dad is from Navarre and he said Dora "acarrea leña para la chimenea" No, Acarréate is a constructed word that you could hear in rural areas but no the RAE doesn't accept. When I was in Estella I got a phone call and I said to my Spanish friend: "No puedo responder, estoy acarreando leña". Also, "acarrear" could be said when someone or something causes problems to you or to someone else. Hebrew seems difficult but for me it would be more difficult languages like Hungarian or Finnish rather than Hebrew. Some of my Russian friends also speak and very fluently Hebrew and I know easy words such as: Aba (Dad), Ima (Mom), Good morning, good evening and good night (boker tov, erev tov and laila tov), ken is yes and no is lo. And the numbers from zero to 10. Nothing more :D
¡Es sorprendente!
Entonces sí conoces bien el Español, más que yo quizás, ¿Será posible? 8-)
Con el Hebreo, tú ya tienes una pequeña base, la verdad, todo comienza desde lo más mínimo hasta lo más complejo, y en el transcurso aprendiendo con esmero claro, pero también con entusiasmo. Por mi parte, estoy interesado el Hebreo Antiguo, el Hebreo que utilizaban los antiguos Hebreos. Es totalmente diferente del Hebreo Moderno o Hebreo Cuadrado, cambia el Alefato desde luego;
потрясающий перевод!
Dora, I feel like you're giving me Spanish lessons, jajaja 😄😄
Wao, вы говорите по-русски? Спасибо большое. Когда я перевожу, то стараюсь, чтобы перевод не получался дословным. Переводить на испанский легко, потому что в нем есть множество прекрасных слов 😊
Я учу русский, но пока не очень хорошо говорю на нём. I understand when I read and listen but I'm stil not confident enough to write that much, jaja.
Ох, ок, понятно, нет проблем. If you need any help related with Russian language or Ukrainian (sorry Norwegian I can't help you) don't hesitate to contact me :)
Wow, that sounds amazing. Thank you so much for your help, Dora. 😊
Тося, твоя фраза написана на идеальном русском.
Thanks for letting me know, Oleg. I guess I'm improving 😄
I haven't seen the film but this clip is funny, though 😄

Only people from Buenos Aires and the South speak with that "sh" sound. In the west side, where I am from, we pronounce it more like "y" or "i".
I didn't remember which part of Argentina were they ( I just remember all of them were River fans) but the sound was "sh" and when it came a football match they turned into "Hooligans", but it was funny to see the final with them. Sadly Argentina didn't win and in the morning they were in silent :D So, Jasper in your city would be "Yasper"?
Most Argentinians are super football fans so they become crazy emotional during matches, haha.
Yes, "Yahper" with an aspirated "s" 😁
MissAtomicLau schreef:Only people from Buenos Aires and the South speak with that "sh" sound. In the west side, where I am from, we pronounce it more like "y" or "i".
This is very interesting, Tosya. I was under impression that all of Argentina and even Colombia does this "sh"(actually, it was mostly "j" like in English "Jonh"). On my two trips to Argentina, I spent most of the time in BA but also in Bariloche and Iguazu Falls area. I also spent time in Chile - skiing in Valle Nevado and hanging out in Santiago and Valparaiso. But Chilean accent is so weird, that I didn't even pay attention to how their "j" and "ll" sounded like.
Argentina is a pretty diverse country when it comes to accents. People in the North speak with a particular tone and pronounce "i" instead of "sh", also their "r" sounds actually like "sh". In the West, our tone is way too different than the classic "porteño accent" every foreigner knows about.

Don't say that, yo know that no translstion is better because of the use of words you only find in the dictionary.
I know Rosa, it was a joke.
Sometimes she uses Spanish words which I haven't heard because I speak Latin American Spanish.
Rosa.... Тося just made a joke. We, I, said it in order to give a big compliment to someone but nothing more. I wasn't born to teach anyone about something. Besides, Тося made wonderful translations, so she didn't need any lesson and take a look to .@Geborgenheit translations and you will see who, of the four of us, could be a teacher and give to us some "kind" of lessons :)
Тося, I often don't understand some Latin American Spanish words but it's because we are not familiar with some slangs as they aren't with ours. When I was a kid Iove to watch movies dubbed in Puerto Rican dialect. Movies such as Lady and the Tramp or Bambi are amazing dubs. I mss them a lot. Related to Argentine slang "Boludo" when I was a kid I thought it was a big fat man :D Or words like "Laburo" in Castilian "laboro" we still use it but not so often. "Mina" in Argentine slang is a women you don’t know and in Castilian a "mina" is a pit or tunnel from which minerals (such as coal, gold, diamonds, etc.) are taken... And finally, " Tener mala leche" in Argentine is used when someone is having some bad luck and in Castilian is used when someone is a "rude" man or woman.
I know it was a joke. My comment was with the idea of making a point in regards to the translation.
And, in regards to the vocabulary, I will make two more suggestions on the verbs discussed, 'plañir' and 'acarrear':
"Plañir" está expresado en la forma negativa del imperativo. Yo creo qe debería ser, "no plañas". ¿Suena bien?
"Acarrear" es un verbo conocido que implica 'arrastrar cosas pesadas y con esfuerzo'. En este caso, aunque triste, no creo que los recuerdos que 'acarrea' sean pesados para él o tenga que poner esfuerzo, sinó que los LLEVA con sentimiento en su corazón.
Creo que voy a entregar mi versión.
I wrote "no plañes" because the 2nd form is: plañes or plañís ("plañís) sounds archaic to my ears but I can be wrong. You could make your own translation. This song has 3 Spanish translations why not four? Acarrear is negative of course but here is abandoned lover. She wanted to keep distance from her beloved but in fact she can't. It's Red thread of fate. She is and was in love with him and when she left was like she wanted to sound "polite" but she was broken inside... I wrote acarrear because she was carried on all her "bad" or "sad" (sounds better") memories
Sincerely I think that Dora is not using the dictionary in this case. I´ve perceived that she reads regularly spanish books and her translations reflect that.
In respect to this translation I think as you can appreciate that has "non colloquial" spanish language...well in this case the tag "poetic" will be more appropriate.
By the way ... the suggestions that you have proposed are really appropriate and are the ones that I think are the "colloquial / more established" counterpart of the "poetic" style used by Dora.
MissAtomicLau schreef:потрясающий перевод!

Роза права, я забыла вам это сказать, потому что не счел нужным указывать на это, а Роза об этом упомянула. Вам не нужны «уроки» (я знаю, что это была шутка), потому что ваши переводы действительно хороши :)
"Deseo que la vida te trate con condescendencia
Y deseo que consigas todo lo que siempre has soñado poseer
Y te deseo que tengas alegría y seas dichoso
Pero, sobre todas las cosas, deseo que halles el amor"
I don't know about you, but this translation spoke to my heart . And i will explain to you why. @Balkantürk managed to give those verses the formality of a letter, never sent . This " non colloquial" that @Anton M points out, reflects the tragic attempt of an abandoned lover to sound "polite" and keep distance from her beloved. Something she does not achieve when the refrain explodes like an atomic bomb full of repressed sentiments.
I have always understood the meaning of this song likewise. It's like an emotional tug of war ( διελκυστίνδα συναισθημάτων in greek), she tries to sound distanced but she just can't.
