Jazz dell'aldilà [Remains of the Day]

lalalala, lalalala...

lalalala, lalalala...

Tre o quattro cosucce provò a trafugar

E poi? e poi dolcezza tutto è diventato... buio.

lei fu sposa in eterno nell’aldilà.

Dai, dai, che tocca anche a te!
morire ad oltranza, che male c'è?
tu prova a scappar, raccomandati ai santi,
ma dovremo al fine morir tutti quanti!

lalalala, lalalala...

Jazz of the Other Side

Hey, borrow me ears, if you’ve got them
Blessed is the one who have an eye and will wipe it
I tell a story that will move you
of the gracious bride of the Other Side

Come on, come on, for it’s your turn too!
To die to the bitter end, what’s wrong with that?
Try to run away, ask for protection by the Saints,
but at the end we should all die!

Lalalala, lalalala…

The sweet maid, who was a rarity,
struck the foreign man, come to the city
he was handsome and good-looking, but poor as a church mouse
and the child fell for him like a sack of cream!
Her father said “no”, brusque like a blunderbuss
they held fast to each other, running away at full gallop.

Come on, come on, for it’s your turn too!
To die to the bitter end, what’s wrong with that?
Try to run away, ask for protection by the Saints,
but at the end we should all die!

Lalalala, lalalala…

They studied a plan, to act in the night,
what they had in mind no one knew,
she put on the dress her mother wore
she was madly in love, and she settled for it!

She tried to steal a couple of things
her grandparents’ jewels and a bag of pearls
under that old tree down there in the graveyard,
between fog and darkness, at a quarter to three,
there was only her, but he didn’t come!

And then? She waited
And then? That shadow! It was her man!
And then? Her poor little heart was beating so fast!
And then? And then, sweetie, everything became… dark.

When she opened her eyes, she was dead, from hours
the treasure was gone, just like her heart
so at the feet of the tree and at the sky she swore
“I will grant myself to who will melt the heart”!

So one day he came, not from afar,
that young love of hers and he gave her his hand.
Here the story ends, how it went is already known
she became a bride for eternity in the Other Side.

Come on, come on, for it’s your turn too!
To die to the bitter end, what’s wrong with that?
Try to run away, ask for protection by the Saints,
but at the end we should all die!

Lalalala, lalalala…
