If only I was prettier and a little bit smarter,
If only I was special, if I was from a magazine,
I would have the courage to cross the train
And ask you who you are.

You sit in front of me and don't even imagine,
That I'm wearing my prettiest skirt for you,
And, seeing you throw a yawn at the crystal,
my pupils start flooding.

Then suddenly you see me,
I look at you and you sigh,
I close my eyes,
You look away,
I'm barely breathing,
I become so small
and I start to tremble.

And so the days go by, Monday through Friday,
like the swallows of Bécquer's poem,
From station to station, sitting face to face,
Silence comes and goes.

Then suddenly you see me,
I look at you and you sigh,
I close my eyes,
You look away,
I'm barely breathing,
I become so small
and I start to tremble.

And then suddenly it happens, my lips wake up,
They pronounce your name stuttering,
I suppose now you're thinking, "What a stupid girl!"
And I want to die.

But time stops
And you come closer saying
"I don't know you but I started to miss you,
every morning, I reject the direct train and I take this one instead."

And now we're arriving, my life has changed,
A day so special this March 11,
You take my hand, we go into a tunnel
that turns off the lights.

I find your face
thanks to my hands,
I become brave
and I kiss you on the lips,
You say that you love me
And I give you the last breath of my heart.

This song was dedicated to the victims of a number of terrorist attacks on a series of trains on March 11, 2004, in Madrid, Spain, and is based on a true story. The story was taken from the diary of a passenger, the entry she was writing on was on Thursday, unfinished. She was one of the victims of the 192 people who died. She would take the train every day and fell in love with a boy who would take the same train but who which she never talked to. She finally talked to him on Thursday, March 11, when they said that they loved one another and, as the song states, she gave him the last breath of her heart.
