The Visit

The trip might not be bad,
A celestial angel might invite me over for dinner.*
It might also be that there is no afterlife,
The story might end badly and it might not start again.

Today a tall and smiling woman came to visit,
She told me: "Hold my hand tightly and follow me."

Heaven might have a sea,
It might be a nice place to see you arrive.
It might also be that I won't see you again,
That I'll have to suffer my exile without you.

Today a tall and smiling woman came to visit,
She told me: "Hold my hand tightly and follow me."

She came dressed in white, she sat by me
And she made me smile, while you were still pulling me back.
And before her eternal kiss I asked for a wish
That I was granted: pulling the petals off the moon for me.**

And in the petal of hope
I could see your name and that of another woman.
I sighed in peace: you'll be happy again.

Let go of my hand, let go of my hand,
Let go of my hand, I'll be okay.

*Could also be interpreted as "An angel might treat me to dinner." (And the actual lyrics say "me invite a cenar")
**This is probably a reference to a poem by Federico Garcia Lorca called Si Mis Manos Pudieran Deshojar
