Uncle from back home

Hey, Uncle, the carrier bags are too heavy
Go on, get in Bilal,
Get in Moulay Othmane, Come on, let's go, let's go.
Uncle Karim, hum hum, uncle from back home,
For all the Kabylie [Berbers], daughter of my country

I wanted to stay in the ghetto, but my father said me - No no no
In that case, I'll take all my friends - No no no
So in one week's time, I'll go back to Vitry - No no no
I'll go end my life over there - Yeah yeah yeah

Overloaded 504 estate car, come on nephews, get in
Just wait a minute while I'm putting the big blue trunk on the roof rack
As numerous as a soccer team, the car weighed down to ground level
We're the last tenants leaving
Filling up with diesel and lemonade, so as not to run out
Bilel, go and piss while I do a bit of shopping
Direction : the port, two days sitting down
All the way to Marseille in a pretty rickety car
Then 24 hours in the boat, I know it's not easy
But I'm going to have a great time in Guido Square
In Bejaia city, on top of my mountain
Before going back home, I'll make a little visit to Oran.
Seeing as I cleaned out the whole Tati shop in Paris,
I'll be making the all of the village happy, even the kids
Some clothes and jewellery for the newly weds
And toys to mess with for the babies.

I wanted to stay in the ghetto, but my father said me - No no no
In that case, I'll take all my friends - No no no
So in one week's time, I'll go back to Vitry - No no no
I'll go end my life over there - Yeah yeah yeah

I'm on the Boulemat beach with my mate and his drum
Holding a glass of Selecto imitation Coca in my hand
A covering of olive oil on my body, on my arms
With my ghetto blaster, immersed in Zahouania
We talk about nothing and everything, from Nike air trainers to visas,
From crossing the desert to Mummy's good couscous.
Then my mate says to me "Karim do smoke shit?"
He was so thick I threw my shoe polish at his head
With 2 or 3 villagers, we're chatting.
Mahmoud can't stop himself from telling them that I'm into singing
One of them says me "I've never seen you on TV"
And another asks me "Is it true that you know Michael Jackson?"
They talk too fast and they speak some local slang,
I know what they could do for a fistful of dinars, the arseholes.
The sun sets and everybody goes back home
It's dinner time, time for tea and for some others, shisha time
I spent a good month in what they call the third-world
And if I had enough money, I would leave taking everyone with me
But I can't close my eyes to what's going on, really.
I dedicate this track to the people who disappeared, children and mothers
Then I ran away to my ghetto in an abaya robe
Happy to see my friends and my girlfriend
For two weeks, all that I ate was soup
I'll go end my life there, god willing.

I wanted to stay in the ghetto, but my father said me - No no no

In that case, I'll take all my friends - No no no
So in one week's time, I'll go back to Vitry - No no no
I'll go end my life over there - Yeah yeah yeah

Have a heart, let me bring my scooter - No no no
OK in that case I'll bring my bottle of wine then - No no no
Alright so I'll take all my CDs, all my tapes - No no no
Right I'll take nothing then - Yeah yeah yeah
OK I'll shave my head at least before I go - No no no
I'll bring my Playstation - No no no
OK the living room TV at least - No no no
You think I'm going out there to get married or what? - Yeah yeah yeah

No no no, no no no, no no no, yeah yeah yeah.

Right. For whatever reason it's been marked as a transliteration, not a translation. It's a translation of the complete song text. Please use this instead of my other contribution which was a translation of the incomplete set of lyrics.

It was marked as 'Transliteration' because you mistakenly chose French instead of English for the language of your translation, I fixed it. I can unpublish your previous translation, if you want me to.

Silly of me! Sorry. Yes, could you unpublish the incomplete one and keep this one only. I think it's better that people just see the complete translation.

There you go :)

As for the 'transliteration' thing, it happens to many people (even me), so don't worry. If it ever happens again, you can edit your translation and choose the right language instead of 'transliteration'. :)
