Whose Is the World

A loud bang, roofs fall crashing down onto the street.
It hurts so, on this road, to hear of you for the very first time.
Others have told a lot, saying that this would be your way,
but I have never believed what people say about you.
Your God having another name makes many people suspicious of you .
At the end, the only thing they understand of what happened is violence.

But I believe firmly that we are united by a common dream
as we are both tired, so dreadfully tired of dreaming about something that won't come true.

Whose is the world, yours or mine?
Should I fight for my country if it means losing you?
Which one of us is right and which one is wrong?
If it's going to be over with us, it doesn't really matter any longer.

This thing between the two of us was undoubtedly a ticking bomb from the very beginning.
Now they lie in ambush just waiting for someone willing to venture.
Then water runs out and we try to dig, in despair, wherever possible.
If I take what's holy for me I know you'll end up missing it.
