Hey,
I think you misunderstood here:
I would like the English original as well as the Turkish adaptation and Czech adaptation to appear on the French adaptation's page. (that's not the case currently)
Why do you need Turkish and Czech ADAPTATIONS to point to French ADAPTATION?
The Turkish and Czech versions are NOT an adaptation of the French cover!
Related items should be requested from the page of the cover version of the ORIGINAL of the song, for example:
It seemed logical to have all adaptations of the same tune (original melody) linked to one another - if that sounds far-fetched to you, I'm sorry.
But at least have Gaynor's original appear on the French adaptation page.
And, it'd be the French adaptation pointing to both the original English and to the two other adaptations btw. (It's just easier to compare adaptations that way)

And where is your logic here?
After all, a French cover has a completely different text and arrangement than a cover in Turkish or Czech!
The French version of this song is directly related to the original ONLY.
For example, please see how the Related links are CORRECTLY organized on the page of the song "Venus": https://lyricstranslate.com/ru/Shocking-Blue-Venus-lyrics.html
All adaptations are very different from each other, but have one common source - the ORIGINAL song.
My logic stems from the habit of comparing adaptations - it's way easier to have them all linked to one another when you want to do so.
It seems like you don't see the point of linking them, but I'm not going to start arguing with you or try convincing you.

That is, you bring your "logic" to where there is already a well-established practice of setting related pages.
Please do not turn into a "mass grave" those web pages that are associated with the original song.
Very ask you: stick to the existing standards!
Done!
EDIT: I just noticed the discussion, maybe it would in fact make more sense to link the French adaptation to the English original only. If someone wants to see other adaptations they can click the link to the original and see them from there. That would make the job of adding related items easier [@Torpedo23].
I know that, but when the original song and the cover version are in the same language, they are supposed to be added in "also performed by". What else would that field be for?
Fellow mod Fary is right: covers are to be added in the "also performed by" field, not among related items. That's the exact purpose for which the "also performed by" field was created.

Where is this fixed in the site rules?
If this is not in the rules, then your statement is not true.

Rules of LT έγραψε:
If a song has been covered or performed by another artist using the same lyrics, you can put that other artist into the field "Also performed by".
2.7 Covers and alternative performances
If there're multiple artists who performed or covered the song, they should be listed in the "Also performed by" field while adding the song. In such a case, translations would be available for all artists who performed the song.
Yes, that's right.
But this topic is not about "Also performed by", but about "Related item".
Therefore: where in the Rules of this site does it say that it is forbidden to put "Related item" links - to original songs in the same language?
If such a rule is not - all of your allegations are not true.
The rules state clearly that they are to be added in the "also performed by" field. There's a lot of things to fix on LT already, so please, do not overwhelm staff members with requests which are not necessary, thank you.
Please do not share here any fictions about what should be corrected on this site.
Just follow the Rules.
Anything that is not prohibited is permitted!
Comment was unpublished as it does not belong here, as explained both by me and fellow mod Fary. Please, do not bring on this issue any further. Two moderators have already intervened to tell you how things should be. This should be enough for you.
Please answer one simple question:
Which SPECIFIC paragraph of the Rules prohibits the publication of "Related" links to cover versions in which the same languages?
If there are no such prohibitions in the Rules, then this is clearly your arbitrariness.
You've been told the rules by two different Mods. And even were shown the ipsis litteris rules. Further comments asking us to break our own rules by adding covers to 'Related' field will be unpublished. Thank you.

The thing is that I can not get you to refer to Rules.
PLEASE quote the SPECIFIC clause of the Rules that prohibit the publication of "Related" links to songs that are performed in the same language.
Thank you, Moshe.
Sorry to bother you again, but I realized while proofreading all of them that they actually all have slightly different lyrics. I guess we could call version 2 and 3 (Hardy's and Maurane's) adaptations instead of pure covers. Hoping you'll have time to edit the "related" entries.
Thanks in advance,

[@Fary]
Sorry for this late reply - only saw this now.
Toto Cutugno wrote the original "Africa."
"L'éte indien" is a translated interpretation of it (same melody, different lyrics, different language), originally sung by Joe Dassin and later covered by Cutugno himself.
Cutugno also sang a translated version of it under "L'estate di San Martino," which Joe Dassin also sang, hence the various links.
Your comment, however, made me realize that the links I had mentioned were already included as 'related' on this page https://lyricstranslate.com/en/toto-cutugno-africa-lyrics.html (the original Cutugno version of Africa I assume)
Thanks for letting me know (;
