Tales of a youth in Meta

When rap started to be a thing, they had such faces
And I only listened to it for the curse words
I wasn't allowed to listen to those or these
It was a time of cackles, dicks and swastikas drawn in toilets
They're meals you need to grow up strong
Especially not to become like them
8th grade, the golden years, the unsurpassed peak
My gang is mismatched and with no golden teeth
Hey Frenk the goat, hey Alfonso, hey Trapani
There's no day I forget about those magic days
Little girls with hateful smiles
They called us immature but look at us
Tough losers with a hard fish, come in the place down here with us, there's still room if you want
As reckless as a herd of oxen
We'll teach you to trespass, to force a lock
To shit in the woods and not to fulfill your duties, to start a fire
Dueling in winter at throwing rocks at each other cause there was no snow but we had fantasy
And we're not street people
Because we are the street

The street, I've lived it in my own way
If you'll come and have a walk in my town
You'll understand why I cried growing up
When I was 12 I had the world in my hands
The street, I've lived it in my own way
If you'll come and have a walk where I live
You'll understand that we're weird, a land of villagers
Boats, tourists and landscapes

The tragedy of high school, we found ourselves alone
Facing 4 classes of new kids and I told them about them
Four madmen, as ugly as rats but with a kind heart
It was a big change, to go from middle school to gymnasium
With the predictable 20 females and 6 confused males
I decided I'd endure it for 4 months at most
And days went by instead, I calmed down
No more bravado, that kid is gone
And I mean, I have a normal life
At the time I was cooler
At the time if I went out I had fun
Now instead, what do we do?
We're always in a street asking "what should we do?"
We could trespass, force a lock, shit in the woods, start a fire
Use fantasy, carve wood, invent some weird device to go back in time
We're not street people
Because we are the street

The street, I've lived it in my own way
If you'll come and have a walk in my town
You'll understand why I cried growing up
When I was 12 I had the world in my hands
The street, I've lived it in my own way
If you'll come and have a walk where I live
You'll understand that we're weird, a land of villagers
Boats, tourists and landscapes
