Hello.
I noticed this post is already a translation into English:
https://lyricstranslate.com/en/theocritus-sorceress-lyrics.html#comment-...
Shouldn't the original Greek be included? If I post my translation should I post it as a "new song" separately?

Actually, we have a whole collection of translations without originals here, 48 items and counting!

Classic poets/poems are always a nuisance, we honestly don't have any guideline for those. I think, though, that we allow official translations to be posted as lyrics to their page(s). Of course, we still need the original in Greek.

"Of course, we still need the original in Greek."

In this case the English translation is treated as if it is the original and "English" is listed as Theocritus' language.

"Theocritus

Country: Greece
Languages: English"

If someone can provide the original it can be exchanged with the English version and the English version added as translation.

It seems to be longer than the English version. I left the link in a comment for now. Do you know Ancient Greek?

I studied Attic Greek and Homeric Greek and Theocritus (doric Greek, I believe) years ago, and translated a few things, including Theocritus Idyll 1 (Thyrsis' Song) and lines 1-27 of Idyll 2 (Sorceress). Unfortunately my knowledge of it now is pretty weak.

It looks like the translation posted at LT is fragments from C.S Calverly's translation, but with a few changes (e.g "I'll charm him now - with witcheries potent." instead of "I'll charm him with charms")
