The Same Dress As Yesterday

You said that you already see us from afar,
You speak of us in the future,
You say even if you don't have a clue,
I have never known something more convincing,

You say when you speak to my soul,
It's my body that responds,
Again a spell, again a spell,
We sing, you sing, each sentence is a cannon,

Tam tam tam o ho, a few steps away from the earth,
Tam tam tam o ho, soaked in the rain,
Tam tam tam o ho, with the same dress as yesterday,
Tam tam tam o ho, I stayed the whole night,

It was first a look, okay,
A drink at the bar okay, but that's all,
Some laughs below, some people outside,
It lasts, I love, it's easy to be us

Floors to climb, slowly,
And kissing ahead of schedule,
Then getting to your apartment,
In the early morning glimmers

Tam tam tam o ho, a few steps away from the earth,
Tam tam tam o ho, soaked in the rain,
Tam tam tam o ho, with the same dress as yesterday,
Tam tam tam o ho, I stayed the whole night,

O ho ho ho, o ho ho ho, o ho, o ho, o ho ho ho ho ho...

Tam tam tam mm, all of the "always" we said to each other,
Tam tam tam mm, we had too many promises,

Tam tam tam o ho, a few steps away from the earth,
Tam tam tam o ho, I walk in the sunlight,
Tam tam tam o ho, with the same dress as yesterday,
Tam tam tam o ho, I know you from the night before.

Hello

In the first stanza, "dans longtemps" is about future, not past (or else it would have been "il y a longtemps"). It means something like "you speak about what we will be in a couple of years"

In the chorus, "à deux pas de" means "a few steps away from".

In the line: all of the "always" we said to ourselves I think it's rather "each other" than "ourselves".

"Un verre au bar" is better translated "a drink at the bar". "A glass at the bar doesn't make much sense in English.
