Vote has been deleted.

The song is Arabic, so transliteration must be Arabic too (with Arabic letters), not Cyrillic.

No, it doesn't. Transliterations can be done into any other script we host, and that includes Chinese, Arabic, Cyrillic etc.

And a song's lyrics can be transliterated into multiple writing scripts. So this translation won't be removed and someone else can publish a Transliteration into the Arabic script (it seems you have done that already).

It's in the FAQhref>, if you object:

Zitat:

If you want to upload a transliteration, upload it as if it were a translation to another language, but when asked for a language, select "Transliteration". You may upload more than one transliteration to a single song.

Now please remove your vote or I'll ask an Admin to do that.

Эй, парень! Ну ты загнул насчёт спама, конечно.
Прежде, чем выдвигать "обвинение", проштудируй-ка лучше правила сайта.
Удачи, дружище!

Alright if that's according to guidelines, I removed my vote

But I think the best practice is to write the original lyrics in the original language (Arabic in this case), and the transliteration in Latin using international phonetics symbols where needed. (I correct my first opinion)

saeedgnu    Παρ, 09/05/2014 - 11:22

Oh, and people don't have to bring a reason for their vote (that's why it's called vote). And nobody should remove somebody's vote

Alma Barroca    Παρ, 09/05/2014 - 13:14

Yes, they do. Unless you rate something with a 5 star rating (that means you see no mistake in the translation and therefore you think it's so perfect you don't need to write anything about it) it's mandatory for the users to add a comment, though recently some users could bypass that.

It's in the FAQ:

Zitat:

If you leave vote lower than 5 you are required to leave a comment - to explain why in your opinion the translation isn’t perfect.

You justified your vote with

This is not a strong reason for anyone to give a 1 star rating. With this rating you're accusing NinaDolmetcherin/AN60SH of using GoogleTranslate, which isn't the case. It's also in the FAQ, as it follows:

Zitat:

1 - terrible, just like machine translation (...). It’s that bad, that it shouldn’t be published on this site.

And regarding the second part of your comment: yes, they should, in all cases where there's either an unfair or an unjustified vote, and so is the case here.

saeedgnu    Παρ, 09/05/2014 - 14:06

Anyway, the main lyrics has a problem according to FAQ (that you just ignored):

7.1 Transliterations
Languages in lyrics pages are expected to be written in their native scripts (e.g. Russian parts of a song are expected to be written in Cyrillic alphabet). To help people who cannot read the original scripts, one may rewrite (or copy) the lyrics in a different script (typically, roman letters). This is known as a transliteration.

If the main lyrics was in Arabic (as it should), I didn't care about transliteration. But now users should select "Second Transliteration" (that it wasn't there before I add) to see the ORIGINAL language, Isn't that confusing for users? You be the judge!

Alma Barroca    Παρ, 09/05/2014 - 22:23

So you should have commented in the base lyrics and not in the Transliteration into the Cyrillic alphabet that was added. Neither NinaDolmetcherin nor AN60SH have anything to do with the fact that the base lyrics are incorrect so their translation shouldn't be rated because of this.

And given that the user who had uploaded the base lyrics hasn't been active for almost 7 years, it would be better to make a comment containing the whole lyrics in the Arabic writing system. Either a Moderator or an Admin would take care of this issue and it would have prevented all this discussion. But anyway, I'll see if its possible for the Admins to correct this so that none of you lose either 'thanks' given or possible ratings.

saeedgnu    Παρ, 09/05/2014 - 14:10

And I haven't seen any website that user's need a reason for their vote (like presidential election). Examples: YouTube, IMDB, Stack Exchange, Google+ and Facebook, etc.

Alma Barroca    Παρ, 09/05/2014 - 22:23

So it seems you wouldn't care about knowing why did someone give your translations a bad rating.
