Nina, I think I've already told you not to give votes that don't reflect the quality of a translation.
And this one is filled with grammar mistakes, there is something wrong in almost every line.
But I can't tell for sure whether the meaning is right, my Russian is too bad to check that.
Well, most mistakes are due to wrong inflection.
For example, it's "die Stadt" so it must be "eine merkwürdige Stadt".
And it's "der Funken", so the first word in the second line must be "er".
And in "Trotz die alle Wörte und Spotte" there are several mistakes. It probably means "Trotz all der Worte und Verspottungen".
Hello, Sciera!
I agree, there`re some grammar mistakes. But this text is quite hard to translate. It`d take some days for me to translate it into German. The sense is here, mistakes can be corrected. I think "two stars" is too cruelly for beginner. It should be "three stars" as minimum.
Bye!
To be honest, I only gave 2 stars to compensate your 5 stars, normally 3 stars would fit better here - at least as far as I can tell the meaning of words in this translation seems to be more or less right.
But I don't think that the ratings should be accomodated if the translator is a beginner. They are to reflect how well translations are done generally, not how well they are in contrast to other translations of that user.
You're partly right. But please, don't compare yourself with non-native speaker. It will be like, as I or someone from Russia will give you 2 stars, because you wrote not this case, for example, Akk. instead of Gen. German has only 4. Russian -- 6. But I think, you will never translate into Russian. He did it. No risk, no fans! Now his vote is 3.5. I think, he will correct his errors.
AN60SH, if you wanna talk to me, speak a language that I understand well enough. Else I have to ignore you.
The google translation of your comment implies that you've called me a "silly little girl"? I actually wasn't sure whether I should vote on this since I don't understand much of the original text but since the target language is my native one I think I can see well enough that the current rating of this, 3,5, isn't that far from a rating that reflects that translations quality, so I see nothing wrong in compensating Nina's 5 stars that obviously were completely off.
That`s enough, Sciera! No need to put me out of temper! I gave my vote and I`m not going to take it away. You gave your one, looking at german grammar. I don`t have any complaints in the semantic meaning, even if this translation isn`t literal. We`ve got different points of view. Both of them have a right to exist. This translation is not so bad, as you think. And nobody called you "silly little girl".
The modship is rather annoyed by your way of handing out 5 stars where they aren't appropriate, Nina and AN60SH.
But it seems like you simply don't understand why that is.
And well, if I wasn't called "маленькие глупенькие девочки" by you, AN60SH, then you see what's the result of you talking Russian to me - nothing but misunderstandings.
Sciera, you make me laugh! I understand, that phrase: "Когда мне наставили "3 stars" маленькие глупенькие девочки, не знающие русского (и языка оригинала), мне было не по себе. Эти оценки до сих пор "болтаются"... makes you confuse.
It means: "When I was given 3 stars by little silly girls, who don`t know Russian (and the language of original), I felt myself not good. And all this marks are still here". That`s not for you at all!
What about modship. I think, you should pay more attention to Site`s "problems" instead of discussion of accuracy of giving marks. Can you imagine, I gave even 4 stars. I`m not so "good"!
By "modship" I meant "all mods". Sorry that I used such an ambiguous expression. And well, the rating system currently is one of the biggest problem of this website. Even a user who is no mod has complained to me about such unjustified 5-star-votes lately.
And you see that my Russian isn't good enough but still AN60SH only writes me in Russian although he should know that. That way I can't discuss with him at all.
Oh, maybe this user is our common acquaintance (I think, you know, what I'm talking about...) Maybe, I'm wrong.
I understood, what you meant under "modship". To be honest, I have seen translations, that are not translations at all. They were taken from other sites. I have read such translations, where I wrote the whole right one in the comment. And such translation had got 5 stars, before I wrote my comment. Is the problem only in me or in my friends?
You and AN60SH and some other users aren't the only users that make such problems but the only ones that don't seem to see the problems when being told.
And I don't know exactly what you're talking about. I guess the one I mean doesn't have a problem with me telling you. The one who has complained is called Aldefina.
Sciera, I think there's no need to continue this conversation. Maybe, this translation will be deleted, because of our comments. I'd do it such way and then would load it once again, correcting mistakes. Believe, it will not so pleasant for Andrei to see such long monolog. If you want to say me something, won't it be better to use PM? I will not write here anything anymore.
(BTW, I meant Ald... . I think, you remember his words to me, something like: "Sie kann mir lecken". Isn't this expression rude? But you, as mod, didn't do anything in this case. Forgotten!)
Uh, that expression is rude (and it probably was "mich" instead of mir").
Well, you didn't report to me that he said that, how should I know? I don't think that anyone here should use such words towards anyone but it means that you have pissed him of quite a lot - which doesn't surprise me.
@Miller Andrej: I hope you aren't too annoyed by these comments here.
I only started this discussion with Nina here in the comments instead of via PM since I think you as the receiver of Nina's and my votes should know whose is more reliable.
I've just read all of the comments and I would like to thank alll the participants. Before I read them, I wrote a PM to Sciera, asking if I really deserve 2/5 stars. Sciera, thank you for your grammatical corrections, I will make it possibly right. But you are too tough, man!
To Nina and AN60SH: I'm so gratefull to you, people. For your protection and support. I have not visited this site for long, I just had bore and made this translation making mistakes. Thanks both of you once again:-)
!!!!! ОК!
