Ab Urbe condita (Latin) — A.U.C., 'since the founding of the city'. Romans dated everything since the founding of their city, Rome in 753 B.C..
A.U.C. is also 'anno Urbis conditae', meaning 'in the year of the founding of the city' (Rome).
