Parus (Парус)

Белеет парус одинокий
В тумане моря голубом...
Что ищет он в стране далёкой?
Что кинул он в краю родном?
 
Играют волны - ветер свищет,
И мачта гнётся и скрипит...
Увы, - он счастия не ищет
И не от счастия бежит!
 
Под ним струя светлей лазури,
Над ним луч солнца золотой
А он, мятежный, просит бури,
Как будто в бурях есть покой!

Bilmem ne terke mecbur olmuş vatanda rnellâh?
Dehşetli dalgalarda hangi emelle gaitan
 
Bâd inlemekte, nâlân yelken ile direkler
Emvâc-ı dehşet-engîz olmakdadır hurûşân
Mes’ûdiyet taharri etmekde mi o, heyhat!
Andan da olmamıştır deryalara girîzân
 
Altında lâciverdi bir bahr-i bî-nihâyet
Üstünde can-fezâ bir hurşîd iken zer-efşân
Mellâh ise hemişe cûş u hurûşu ister
Şu reşş içinde gûyâ varmış huzura imkân!
