Please, confess it to me
Where you’ve got these charms from
Without you I have been
In deep day and night sorrow

What if here, in these woods,
You looked out for the philtre
Golden ruta you found
And put your spell right on me

Chervona ruta
Please, don’t seek it by evenings
You’re the one that I want
The only one, believe.
All of your beauty
Is like pure spring water
Like a-streaming blue water
From the hills

I see you in my dreams.
In green groves of oak
You are coming to me
Along paths long forgotten

You don’t have to get me
That red flower of hope
‘Cause it’s you who’s long been
Part of my dreams of love

Chervona ruta
Please, don’t seek it by evenings
You’re the one that I want
The only one, believe.
All of your beauty
Is like pure spring water
Like a-streaming blue water
From the hills
Like a-streaming blue water
From the hills
