The first national final of the season has just finished. Good choice for the first entry.

SiHo_92SiHo_92    Sun, 23/12/2018 - 20:23

Does it ever end?! :P

FxC90FxC90    Sun, 23/12/2018 - 03:52

   Sun, 23/12/2018 - 20:41

Only one country has selected its entry so far. It has also been revealed that Cyprus' song title will be "Replay" (performed by Tamta) and Armenia has also selected its singer. No lyrics are available so far.

Italy's one will only be known in February after the Sanremo Music Festival.

Black MambaBlack Mamba    Sun, 23/12/2018 - 20:48

So, it's official.. Tamta is gonna go with Cyprus..

I thought it was just rumors..

RealAchampnatorRealAchampnator    Sun, 10/02/2019 - 11:38

In Germany starts the selection in 22nd of February 2019 under the title “Unser Lied für Israel“ so after that our Song is selected and can be entered in this list

Black MambaBlack Mamba    Wed, 26/12/2018 - 03:33

The singer has already confirmed that the song will be kept in Albanian.

I agree with you. It's better when everyone singing in their own language.
"Well, I don't speak their language" I hear that very often in Germany.
There is lyricstranslate.com. :D

I agree. I think that singing in their native languages shows respect for their origins - English translations might be too marketing-inclined, as a way for them to promote themselves worldwide... They're not wrong, though, but IMHO keeping songs in their original language keeps their essence...

Black MambaBlack Mamba    Wed, 26/12/2018 - 03:13

But countries who "sing" in their οwn language, never come up first.

Black MambaBlack Mamba    Wed, 26/12/2018 - 03:23

Sorry, but l prefer English language in songs. It's more catchy.

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    Wed, 26/12/2018 - 18:38

M likes her own comments - this I don't mind, but when she likes opposite points of view, it drives me crazy... Lol. It also makes me laugh so It's all good. Of course, if she got a badge for everyone asking her why she does it, she would be a Queen Black Mamba.

bambabamba    Sat, 29/12/2018 - 17:27

Hi, is there a chance to open a thread for the spanish song. Ot 2019.

bambabamba    Fri, 18/01/2019 - 06:11

Hola!🙂
I added the 10 songs of eurovision spain gala.
The competition is set to be on sunday 20.1.19.
I hope it is o.k.

FxC90FxC90    Fri, 18/01/2019 - 07:03

Hola, bamba. I think that you better make a ne playlist for the Spain gala. Cause this playlist only for the official contestants only. Hope that helps you :)

bambabamba    Fri, 18/01/2019 - 07:39

I don't know how to make a playlist 🙂
I don't make one. 🙂

bambabamba    Fri, 18/01/2019 - 10:33

Thank you!!!❤

What's the point of adding the Cypriot song? We can't even know if the lyrics are going to stay the same.

mk87mk87
   Mon, 25/02/2019 - 04:35

Because whenever I don't add a song the same instant it is chosen/released/leaked I get tons of comments or PMs telling me "You haven't added XY yet!!!", which stresses me out (since I watch all the national finals, so I'm actually quite quick) and I wanted to obviate that by adding the song and making it clear that it's just an unreleased demo.

Well, MARUV isn't participating anymore. Such a shame.

I don't really follow up with ESC, so let me ask a question. Is it broadcast 'worldwidely' or just for European countries? Here in Brazil we have RAI International, SIC and some other foreign channels, do they, by any chance also broadcast it?

RealAchampnatorRealAchampnator    Thu, 28/02/2019 - 00:51

The Eurovision Song Contest (French: Concours Eurovision de la chanson), often simply called Eurovision, is an international song competition held primarily among the member countries of the European Broadcasting Union. Each participating country submits an original song to be performed on live television and radio, then casts votes for the other countries' songs to determine the winner. At least 50 countries are eligible to compete as of 2018, and since 2015, Australia has been allowed as a guest entrant.

I don't know which channels exactly broadcast it, but last year it was shown by US-american, Chinese and I think some African TV channels, maybe even in some Latin American countries.

AnerneqAnerneq
   Fri, 01/03/2019 - 01:12

Theoretically it's only broadcast by the participant countries, but some other countries outside of Europe have done it as well. Recently the USA, China and Canada started to broadcast it regularly, Brazil did it once or twice in the 80's (if I'm not mistaken). If you want to watch it though, they livestream the event on YT.

I just checked the official website's FAQ and broadcasting rights, the only thing they say is that, outside the partecipating countries, it can be followed on the official YouTube channel unless legal restrictions apply. If I don't recall wrong, last year the yt stream was not available in something like 3 countries. South Korea was definitely one of them, but I think Brazil was another (it was clearly stated on the official website, while this year it isn't). I'm not sure though.
But I think that, if the stream is not available on yt, it shouldn't be on any TV channel either.

Everybody, PLEASE calm down. I know that a lot of internally selected songs are released tonight and I will all add them... but I've got a day job, you know. ;-)

RealAchampnatorRealAchampnator    Mon, 11/03/2019 - 06:49

29. in this list is well known here in Germany because of DSDS “Deutschland sucht den Superstar“ and now I'm surprised that he appears in the ESC
