can anybody help me identifying the language of this (unfortunately bad quality) record I found?

At first, I thought it's some Romanian song, because "Românul" means "The Romanian", but then I thought it's Hungarian "Romanul" which.. I think means "Romanian too", but I've tried to hear the voices in the background, the song's lyrics.. And I can't distinguish anything..

Yes, I also thought about Romanian first since also the melody could be from balkans... But I also think its a different language...

To me it definitely sounds like Arabic but I presume it's some African variety (Sudan?)

It's Sudanese Creole + Chorus in Arabic. That's why Vladimir took it for Romanian at first. At least this option looks most probable. Good luck! :)
