Nena Venetsanou - Lilith | Λιλήθ (English translation)

English translation

Lilith

My thoughts of you
shall remain amid the shadow.
Lilith, a beautiful name,
a writing half faded.

Your eyes are deep as ebony,
blue is your body.
Whose hands have nailed you down
in the middle of the abyss!

We live mundane, short lives
Who'll be the one to break our spell;
We live silent, inside the houses.
Who'll be the one to win against fear;

Playing with magic filters,
witch of the abyss.
You stay away from the warm
fire of Heaven.

They threw you in the dark,
but you are dancing naked.
You dare to give an outrageous birth,
planting schisms.

We live mundane, short lives
Who'll be the one to break our spell;
We live silent, inside the houses.
Who'll be the one to win against fear;

The flower, the primrose,
the dark feathered nightingale.
You're flapping your pain
inside the gloomy field.

And i feel thrills,
the winged sign.
I recognize nothing.
Lilith, thick darkness.

We live mundane, short lives
Who'll be the one to break our spell;
We live silent, inside the houses.
Who'll be the one to win against fear;

Yeah, Lilith is a succubus in Mesopotamian mythologies, but passed on to Jewish tradition as Adam's first wife who left him because she wanted to be sexually dominant as well. She is a pretty interesting figure, if you ask me.

Or equal. The myth has numerous variations, but the essence is the same.

Ίνκουμπους Σούκουμπους μακριά, είναι μοχθηρά και γεννάνε δαίμονες που κάνουν κακό σε ανθρώπους. Angel
