Nacht des Nordens (English translation)

English translation

Northern Night

Take me away, you wise traveler
Away to the land of which I dream
Silvery shimmer there the mountains
And golden gleam the trees

Fly with your lithe sleigh
Fly over the fields of silver
Through the bright northern night
Through the white birch forests

Let us meet there
Roam between the day and the dew
Let us find troves of red berries
There in the first light of dawn

Let us seek trails and tracks
There in the heather
Learn songs from the wolves
And from the wind in the aspen-leaves

Let us find magical herbs
And by the wild creek under willows
Carve our wishes, our dreams
Into the slender beech staves

Let us meet there
Roam between the day and the dew
Let us find troves of red berries
There in the first light of dawn

Roam between the day and the dew
Roam between the day and the dew

Let us meet there
Roam between the day and the dew
Let us find troves of red berries
There in the morning...

Let us meet there
Roam between the day and the dew
Let us find troves of red berries
There in the first light of dawn

Author's comments:

A bit loosely translated to sound more like a song in English

>" Lass uns Schätze roter Beeren
Finden dort im Morgengrau"
Let us find red berrie's treasure
In the first light of dawn

>"Lass uns Wege, lass uns Zeichen
Sammeln dort im Heidekraut"
Let us gather trails and tracks
There in the heather

Thanks Hansi!

I know it literally says "gather trails and tracks" but that verb sounds too weird to me in that context in English.
