Why do you think this is a poor translation? Roberto is a native Portuguese and a fluent English speaker. I agree that there are things I would consider changing, but from what I've seen in the last years, he's a good translator and does not deserve this rating. Please elaborate more.

excuse me? I didn't personally attack the translator, and I didn't rate him based on what you've seen in the last years. It's a poor translation because it doesn't sound like natural English and it doesn't provide a comprehensible interpretation of the song.

I didn't say that. The point is that the original text is confusing in Portuguese, maybe he tried to do a literal translation, but I don't know. Anyway, it clearly does not deserve 1 star (I'm also native Portuguese + fluent English, so I can judge as well). For me, as said before, the translation is fine, I'd only change a few things - which I suggested already. When he comes to the website again, he will make the changes he thinks are necessary.

I understand your view on the quality of the translation, but as you keep saying, the translation is fine for *you*, but *my* rating is my opinion. You're free to leave your own rating, as you did, but that doesn't mean you can argue with me to change my mind. i'm not a regular contributor to this site, so maybe I'm missing something about the rating system, but I'm confused as to how my leaving a one-star rating is cause to be accosted by other members. Plus, I'm a native English speaker, so I don't recognize you as an authority on this matter. thanks!

For me the stars are important to found out is it a good translation or not. To all peoples they want to learn is it good to see is the translation good or not. For the translator is an good explanation about the mistakes important to improve. We have all to learn somethings. When we able to teach to each other it is good for all of us.

I do respect your opinion and will allow you to speak your mind always, but as you brought 'authority' matters to discussion, I'm a Moderator and one of my jobs is to enforce the rules :)
According to the FAQ (https://lyricstranslate.com/en/faq#faq36), 1 star means that a translation is
(...) terrible, just like a machine translation (see 3.8 What about Google Translate service and other machine translations?). It’s so bad that it shouldn’t be published on this site.
This translation is not made with an automatic translation and, hence, does not deserve one star. At most, 4, or even 3 if you're too critical. But not 1.
Your sole comment on why this was a bad translation was 'please don't fulfill requests for translations into languages which you do not speak well', so your vote couldn't be taken seriously. We ask users to always provide an elaborate report on why they think translations are not good, and that's not a good justification.
Please provide suggestions of improvements, else I'm asking for this rating to be removed. Thank you.

edited to elaborate: This translation is almost entirely incomprehensible and nonsensical. As a native English speaker, I would be sorely disappointed to be notified that my request was fulfilled, only to see this, which serves no one. My point being that, as I've seen time and time again on this website, I can only assume that this was fulfilled haphazardly for the sole purpose of collecting points, which is an abuse of the site and its purpose.
