Commandante Che Guevara (orig. Hasta Siempre, Comandante)

We are left with what was good and what was clear:
We beheld it in you always
And love and hate, but never fear
Commandante Che Guevara.

The enemy feared you, but our love was with you
at the front of the battle, where death laughs,
where the people saw an end to tyranny.
Now you are gone and yet remain in us.

We are left with what was good and what was clear:
We beheld it in you always
And love and hate, but never fear
Commandante Che Guevara.

And you became no haughty man,
no big shot with an eye for riches.
From the mastermind arose the hero
who, in tidy fatigues, fought the old regime.

We are left with what was good and what was clear:
We beheld it in you always
And love and hate, but never fear
Commandante Che Guevara.

Now, you knew the poor of the world
need more than just to eat.
And you never forgot,
that man is born of man.

We are left with what was good and what was clear:
We beheld it in you always
And love and hate, but never fear
Commandante Che Guevara.

The jacket with the red star,
The capa oscura,
Jesus Christ with a machine gun
so was the image we followed to the fight.

We are left with what was good and what was clear:
We beheld it in you always
And love and hate, but fear
Commandante Che Guevara.

Did I miss something or is the 'never' omitted in last refrain in the English translation?
'And love and hate, but fear' is given for 'und Liebe, Haß, doch nie Furcht sah'
