The one who passes

Lost in my mind like always and suddenly I see her passing
with an "Eleftheroudakis"* bag and she smiles at me
Snails at Stadiou and clovers at Sina
Your walking makes Athens more beautiful
Lemon trees at Korai and vine yards at Zonars
I want to see you alone!

The one who passes, the one who passes
We should ask her to see where she's going
We should ask her to find our destination
Her unknown way will find ours

I ask her "what's up", she tells me "I'm just going to class,
To the dance, to the convention to the philosophy"
Orchards in Benaki, pastures in Skoufa
People are buzzing around because of your flower
Indigo windows in taxis and trolleys
Everyone is saying "Good morning" to each other

Snails at Stadiou and clovers at Sina
Your walking makes Athens more beautiful
If you got nothing to do, I will get married to you now
And spring time will start

*Bookshop in Athens
The song refers to various areas in Athens saying they have flowers and trees and indigo windows, but that's not true! Also, people wouldn't say good morning to each other. Athens just seems happier to him because he saw her passing.
