Здравствуйте and good evening to both of you,
if you refer to the english text, I'd also say that времена года usually go
без неопределенного артиклья, only if you say e.g.: 'an exceptionnally hot sommer'..., but most seldom you'll say "a summer" ... as there exists ONLY ONE of each - summer, autumn, winter, spring).
But also before '"smoke'....(without a fire)", you should better omit the indefinite article.
Best wishes from my part.
Carmen
In the first verse: " look out OF the window"
😊 Пожалуйста, and thank YOU for not being annoyed about my comments and for 'butting' into your conversation.
But this issue of articles is in so far very interesting for me, -but then especially the other way round-, namely when I'm doing my russian exercises, as YOU Russians do not have articles at all 😉😅, which can make it often quite difficult to recognize, which words do belong together.... in fact I think that this - in Russian- can only be identified by spotting case, number and gender of the nouns, as in latin it's likewise.
And then after all, Irina, - proof-reading or correcting is always easier than working out the entire text, or here, an entire song.
This is the good in doing translations together with -the "right"- persons, because each of them perceives the faults or right expressions, s/he is strong at.
🤗💃🙋♀️😚 C.
Oh no, you are not butting into this conversation at all! It’s an open forum, and anyone is welcome!
It doesn’t matter for how long one has been speaking English, for many (possibly every) native Russian speakers articles remain the bane of our linguistic existence 😂🤣😆. And for some, like me, it doesn’t matter how many times I read about the use of them, it just doesn’t completely sink in because, as you mentioned earlier, Russian doesn’t have any. So I just use my intuition most of the time, although, and trust me in that, I am quiet familiar with rules. That constant uncertainty about these darn little words keeps me on my toes pretty much all the time, and I welcome any help I can get.
If you ever need any help with Russian translations, just let me or any of the people who comment on my or Schnurrbrat’s translation, and we will be happy to proofread your work.
Thanks again! 👍👏😊

I only proofread the lyrics and ensured that the text sung matches the written lyrics.
