Discomfort (Russian translation)

Discomfort

It caused no small matter of discomfort
to paint the scene where, warmed by the spring’s rays,
my friend had lost his pants while so excited...
finally to get his tan.

Meanwhile, in his garden,
the Dandelion raised her sunny head.
Alas, he rushed into the battle, forgetting
the flower’s meaning is to promise total faithfulness.
To my friend, this proved discomfiting, I guess.

Submitter's comments:

discomfit was borrowed from Anglo-French in the 13th century with the meaning "to defeat in battle." Within a couple centuries, discomfit had expanded beyond the battlefield to mean "to frustrate the plans of; to thwart," a meaning that eventually softened into the "to disconcert or confuse"

Дискомфорт

Я в красках опишу, без чувства дискомфорта,
как некий друг, шалея от весны,
в волненье потерял свои штаны
и весь сгорел по самые... ботфорты.

Тем временем в саду его поднял
хохол свой золотистый Одуванчик.
Увы, в сраженье бросился наш галл,
забыв долг Верности (что dandelion и значит)!
Загар то или стыд, но лик его стал ал.

This is a poetic translation - deviations from the meaning of the original are present (extra words, extra or omitted information, substituted concepts).
