per questa dittatura.
La troppa umiliazione
ci ha fatto rivoltare.
Le botte e le violenze
ci hanno quasi spezzato.
Vittime del ricatto
e della repressione.
Non far morire l’albero
piantato da quei figli;
le vite che hanno dato
ci devono insegnare
che tutti sono uguali,
culture ed opinioni.
Figli di questo tempo,
c’è ancora da lottare.
Figli della montagna
stanchi dell’oppressione,
con meno di vent’anni,
scelsero di lottare
– figli della montagna –
per questa libertà,
quella dell’uguaglianza
nella diversità.
La resistenza non è conclusa.
Ad opera dei vecchi e dei nuovi partigiani.
La puzza dei massacri,
delle carni bruciate,
paesi tra le fiamme,
le genti disperate.
Madre, devo partire,
spero di ritornare
ma se dovrò morire
c’è chi continuerà.

ci devono indicare
la strada da seguire,
di chi non sa accettare

The resistance against oppression and social injustice goes on; it must go on here and everywhere, by the hands of both old and new partisans. The resistance is not done yet.
Suffering and destruction
because of this dictatorship.
Too much humiliation
caused us to revolt.
Blows and abuses
almost broke us.
Victims of extortion
and repression.
Don’t let the tree die,
the tree those sons planted;
the lives they gave
must teach us
that we’re all equal,
cultures and opinions.
Sons of this age,
we still have to fight.
Sons of the mountain
tired of the oppression,
younger than twenty,
they chose to fight
– sons of the mountain –
for this freedom,
that of equality
among diversity.
The resistance is not done yet.
By the hands of both old and new partisans.
The stench of massacres,
of burnt flesh,
villages on fire,
desperate people.

I hope I’ll be back,
