Lucha Villa - Fina Estampa (English translation)

English translation

Fine Aspect

Versions: #1#2
A joyous little path with moonlight or sunlight
Lying like a ribbon with its sides of red
Red of geraniums and blushing smiles
Red of carnations and cheeks in bloom

Perfumed by magnolia sprinkled with early morning dew
The little path smiles when your foot caresses it*
And the cuculi** laughs and the window shakes
When your fine aspect takes a walk along that path

Fine aspect, gentleman
Gentleman of fine aspect
A bright star that would smile under a hat
Would not smile more beautiful
Nor shine more, gentleman
And in your walking, walking, the pavement shines when you walk, walk

It takes you near the hallways and to the enchanted patios
It takes you near the small plazas and to the dreamed loves
Little path that bills and coos with embroidered taffetas
Heel of a silk sandal and dapper saddles

It is a joyous road with moonlight or sunlight
That I must travel singing to see if I can overtake you
Fine aspect gentleman who would be able to preserve you

Fine aspect, gentleman
Gentleman of fine aspect
A bright star that would smile under a hat
Would not smile more beautiful
Nor shine more, gentleman
And in your walking, walking, the pavement shines when you walk, walk

* There is an error in the transcription. In line 6 "cuando tu piel acaricia" should be "cuando tu pie la acaricia". I have translated the correct lyrics.
I believe "mas" in the transcription should be "más" (more) At any rate I have translated it as more.
** Sweet Latina says that a cuculi is a type of wild pigeon (or perhaps she means dove, she uses the word poloma) the size of a domestic one but more slender and ash colored and with a very vivid blue band under each eye.
