So a couple of days ago a user on here said that my English translation matched Google Translates translation, therefore my translation got taken down. But I had not used Google Translate for it though. It just so happened my English translation matched Google Translate! That's all! (Not like the user cares though) So unless my English translation is supposed to be written in a different way, could anybody PLEASE help me!

I am very familiar with the show that this song was used in and even native Italian speakers do not like the translation for this either!

Original video: https://youtu.be/pXnCETzzb9Y

The original Italian lyrics:

Yes! Pretty Cure 5 Gogo! (Go!)
Ritorniamo ancora insieme, felicità!
E ancora una volta, saremo qui!
Yes We Go, Go!
Si, venite tutte con me!
Yes We Go, Pretty Cure Go!
Ricomincia la nuova storia
E chissà come andrà
Go Go!
Il coraggio amici, io ce l'ho..
Quindi state con me!
E la rosa vincerà le forze del male
Ora alzati ancora
Senti che allora
C'è una nuova avventura per noi!
Metamorfosi, solo per noi!
Per combattere, solo per voi!
Ed il sogno vive dentro di noi
Metafisiche, si siamo noi!
Per rivivere, solo con voi
Ed il sogno vive dentro di noi.
Corre la città non sà chi la proteggerà!
Go Go!
E dal male che ha un nome: Eternal
Pretty Cure siamo noi si siamo qui!
Yes We Go, Go!
5 tutte per voi!
Yes We Go, Pretty Cure Go!

MY English translation:

Yes! Pretty Cure 5 Gogo! (Go!)
Let us return together again, happiness!
And once again, we will be here!
Yes We Go, Go!
Yes, everyone come with me!
Yes We Go, Pretty Cure Go!
The new story begins again
And who knows how it will go
Go Go!
Courage friends, I have it...
So stay with me!
And the rose will win against the forces of evil
Now stand up again
Feel that now
There is a new adventure for us!
Metamorphosis, just for us!
To fight, just for you!
And the dream lives within us
Metaphysical, yes that's what we are!
To relive, only with you
And the dream lives within us.
The city does not know who will protect it!
Go Go!
And from the evil that has a name: Eternal
Pretty Cure we are we are here!
Yes We Go, Go!
5 all for you!
Yes We Go, Pretty Cure Go!

So my question is... If Google Translate was supposedly used, then what is the "correct" English translation?

Any ideas?

Your translation doesn't 100% match GT. Plus the lyrics are very easy to understand: the structure of each sentence is really simple, a 10-year-old child would speak like that. No wonder GT actually gives a reliable result.
As I told you, the translation is fine (I would have given it 5 stars, if the lyrics weren't so easy), so I don't get what's the fuss all about and who told you this. Don't worry too much.

It's hard for me to tell, but only because my Italian isn't good enough to really know one way or the other. But it seems to be a rather literal translation, and that could be why they're suspecting that. But I'm not at all an authority on Italian and DarkJoshua knows what he's talking about better than I do. :p

I agree, the translation is quite literal, but that's how it is supposed to be. The original lyrics are made of very short sentences with a very precise meaning.
How are you supposed to translate "quindi state con me"? She translated it as "So stay with me" which is very literal, but works just fine. You could also say "so stay by my side", but I can't think of any more options. Same goes for the rest of the lyrics. The meaning is so precise that you can't really use your imagination and creativity. I mean, it's a show for kids after all: they're not gonna use strange metaphors or a poetic language.

I agree and I wasn't saying there was a problem with it being literal, I'm just saying that might've been why.

Thank you! Maybe the translation was so simple and easy to understand because the show on that station was aimed towards a younger audience? I admit I used GT for a few words but otherwise I understood it just fine. The song itself is just explaining the plot for the show anyway 😂

I translated it pretty easily because I was already familiar with the show

I'm not worried I was just confused that's all. And thank you!

I think the line that gave it away as a GT translation is “The city does not know who will protect it!” which is exactly how GT translates “Corre la città non sà chi la proteggerà!” The line should actually be “Corre la città e non sa chi la proteggerà” which translates to “The city is running and doesn’t know who will protect it”.

I could have gotten the Italian lyrics from the wrong place as well. I agree with you though!

Well first the user Jethro Paris said something about it, then he said that it checked out or was OK. But then it got disabled (the translation I mean) by I think the head admin? It had LT's logo as their profile picture.

I'm the one who told her that. Since I found a translation made with Google Translate, I looked at others of her translations and this one matched quite well with Google (because let's not forget that the slightest use of Google is prohibited) and since I don't speak Italian, I couldn't know that the text was that simple.
Anyway, after a second check, I said this one was finally clean in my opinion Wink smile

I've already corrected the lyrics. There were a lot of "sì" without an accent as well.

That would be my fault. My keyboard does not usually have the letter í. Thank you for correcting it by the way!

And I am sure you probably were not familiar with the show that it came from either. 😝 Anyway I was not mad at you after you did a second check. I was just surprised that the translation had been removed so quickly! And on April Fools Day too!

To summarize my final thoughts before I hit the solved button, I was wanting or expecting the original English translation that I had before to come back in anyway shape or form. Whenever I deal with song lyrics especially from an OST, I like to keep a record of some sort of both the original lyrics that were in or written in the original language, possibly a 'source' of where I had found them at in case something was spelled incorrectly and my English translation which I refer to as my "English roughly translated lyrics".The records that I keep have NEVER come or came from LT though!

Oof... I rambled on again sorry! I just wanted to learn from my mistakes I guess was what I was trying to say. Back to where I had found the Italian lyrics, one website had all of the lyrics in all capital letters which is OK if the language is English or even Dutch but because I'm still learning and getting used to Italian I couldn't use the lyrics in all capital letters because of how unsure I was once I switched most of the letters back to lower case. So I looked at the lyrics on a not as reliable website and those were the Italian lyrics that everybody saw.
