Hey everyone! Does this chant sound like anything to you? Is it a real language or just made-up gibberish with ASEAN-like sounds?
This is the transcription of the lyrics according to official subtitles:
Suvaa de draa sim
Mandra de draa lim
Bavaa de draa Tomben

I've tried searching as well but the language doesn't seem to exist. Maybe it really is made up for the movie.
I've tried google translate from malaysian, indonesian, burmese, khmer, vietnamese, lao but all yielded nothing.

This doesn't sound like anything I'm familiar with. It doesn't look neither like Bahasa Malaysia nor Bahasa Indonesia. The way she pronounces words doesn't sound at all like any tonal language in the region like Burmese, Vietnamese, Lao or Thai (although phonetically speaking these words could theoretically exist in Thai). For the same reason, I'm also inclined to rule out any minority language in the region like Hmong or the various Tay languages.
I don't have much familiarity with Khmer, but by the looks of it, it looks more like an Indian language to me. Buddhists in the region often sing such mantras deriving from either Pali or Sanskrit adapting them to their respective languages, which results in gibberish for any language involved.
Are you sure this is a language from the ASEAN region? It might also be gibberish or a mantra-like chant with no meaning.

I found in Google:
langue détectée: Goudjarati.
And a (very beautiful) text of the lyrics written in this language. Hope you can see this link

I can only recognise 'mandra' which means 'mantra' XD

But I believe that it is just gibberish. Anyhow, I feel that it somehow sounds like Austroasiatic languages like Khmer I guess.

OK, I'll take it as gibberish, I just wanted to have natives to check it for me, so to be sure. Thanks everyone!
