There is only one genre of metal, I think metal needs to get more genres. There are almost 200 genres of metal out there. Thank you

Can you please back your request up with examples, arguments, etc.?

I agree that there are a lot of sub-genres of metal (even if 200 seems a bit too much, unless you count every single combination of sub-genres...).
However, the admins have declared that the genre list is already too long and unwieldy as is and therefore no new genres would be added.
If we add metal genres, then I would suggest either only two:
Traditional/Melodic Metal (Heavy, Glam, Folk, possibly Pagan and Melodeath) and Extreme Metal (Black, Death, probably Thrash).
Or each/most of the just mentioned ones.
Grindcore btw already has a genre, even though some would see it as a sub-form of Metal, and Metalcore/Hardcore, too, share a genre.

Okay, yeah, forgot the Sludge/Stoner/Doom-complex of Metal and Power Metal. Both would fit into the first of the two categories I suggested.

Nu, Alternative (and Rap) Metal is a kind of Alternative Rock, Speed Metal is very close to Thrash, Crust Punk is a kind of Hardcore, Metalcore already has a category, Christian Metal is not defined by music but by lyrics, so no genre (and yes, Christian Rock should therefore probably also be removed from the genre list), Symphonic Metal, not sure whether I would say that's a genre of its own, it's close to Power and Heavy Metal, and Funk, Gothic and Industrial are combinations of Metal and specific other genres that already have categories.
