Thanks :D It's fixed now :D
I'm not an English native speaker, but by listening to the song it seems to me like in the last lines it's "are tiny deer", and also "Can I leave this fruitcake here?" but I'm not sure.
Well, I'm not a native either :/ I agree with the 2nd one, it's fixed :) And in the 1st one I hear something like "and tiny deer", but I left it as I found it somewhere. I guess we need a native here to solve it...
Thanks so much :D Fixed :D
About the "sailing with our choir" I thought the same, but I thought it was some sort of metaphor (I don't know lol)
Aaand... Could you tell me what "muletide" means?
That's weird - I'd have said it should be "yuletide" but it doesn't sound like it. Maybe an attempt at a pun with "mulled wine" + "yuletide"
/edit - there seems to be a cat in there at times. Maybe it's "Mew" + "Yuletide"
One would need to watch the cartoon to be sure and that's more than I'm prepared to endure ;)
Well, we'll never know :'(
Look at this - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4049534/ - It must be what we're looking for... Maybe from it you could understand :)
From this (http://www.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_mule_tide?#slide=1) hardly-usable website it looks like it's a USA southern expression meaning "stuck"? I don't know lol
There's a reindeer :)
I watched the film in Spanish in a *very* legal way (it already came out in Mexico so you can find it) and I don't remember about any mules.
However I edited my previous message with another link, check that
Yeah I know, maybe you're right. I'll check the film again now to see if in the video version of the song you can see something about that.
Well, there are thousands of cats in the song, but not in that part of it. In that part the video doesn't really match with the song, since there's just an old woman "throwing" Olaf. Someone in the comment below gave us another idea though.
Well, ok :) You're the native one
No please no, they can't put that in a children film lol
I think I'll just end up translating it as Moscow mule in my italian translation.
Yeah already did that :D
Aaaand in the end it's "mule-tied" :D
Look at the subtitles in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLGBEETtEPc
However, maybe he just says muletide and it's just an invented word? This song seems pretty much full of that sort of joking
Could be "mill that barrel"?
edit: IMO it isn't "mill", I listened to the song once more and I can clearly hear an "ee-oo" sound, and not just "ee"...
Nah, there's no food while he says that :)
Edit: There's a mill though! LOL
Back on this one. I just watched the whole thing in English and I'm pretty sure that where he says "dear" it's actually "deer", since he is near to Sven in that moment :D
In "faithful friends are tiny deer" he hugs him.
In the second one (at the end) I think it's "faithful friends are tiny deer", in fact he is shown in front of Sven (which is far behind him) with his hand pointing to him.
Ok, Disney released "That time of year" on YouTube and the lyrics are in the subtitles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLGBEETtEPc
It looks like we got something wrong :D
- So happy, merry yuletide carols, faithful friends are *deer*
- Oh, happy, merry, mule-tied barrels, faithful gladsome cheer
- Chubby man will soon appear and faithful friends are tiny deer
