Funkenflug - Morgenfeuer

An des hellen Norden-Morgen
Über Straßen weht ein Wind
Bürgernöte, Spießersorgen
Für ein Nichts von gestern sind
Neuland brennt aus diesem Grunde
Führt die frische Saat herauf
Und die glühendheiße Stunde
Und den feigen Herze Rauch
Innen drin ein ängstlich Zagen
Klingt nicht mehr im Fackelschein
Leben heißt ein Leben wagen
Mal gewonnen will es sein
Wer viel frisst muss einmal fasten
Jugend greift das Morgenlicht
Immer weiter nur nicht rasten
Sieghaft kommt das Weltgericht
Wer blickt noch auf Goldgefunkel
Er verwest im Neonschein
Da entfährt das alte Dunkel
In die Hölle tief hinein
Morgenfeuer sind geblieben
Durch Europa fährt ihr Brand
Die ihr Herz dem Sturm verschrieben
Eilt in Zukunft in der Hand
Die ihr Herz dem Sturm verschrieben
Eilt in Zukunft in der Hand

Many thanks!
Allow me these questions though:
- why doesn't the "i" in Wind, innen and drin really sound i, but more like the close back unrounded vowel (IPA "ɯ")? Is this some dialectal phenomenon?
- are you sure the second verse begins with "Dringt ein Wind"? It really sounds as something else.

Sorry, sorry, I listened to it once again. It's "Fräulein drängt", "Fräulein rennt"? Sorry, I don't understand it. They seem to sing a real clear German, but I still can't understand it and those lyrics don't make a lot of sense to me. Maybe that's why my mind played a trick on me and put "dringt ein Wind" where there's no wind (so there's quite a lot of wind in those lyrics) just to make sense.

Please don't ask me anything about pronounciation, grammar or dialects I don't know anything of these.
They don't seem to sing any dialect. When I first listened to the song I looked them up to check if they are really Germans. I was puzzled about the strange choice of words I never heard before, i. e. Norden-Morgen or Gestern-Wind. Maybe I should send them an e-mail to let them check the lyrics?

Thanks for clearing it up, it happens every once in a while. There are occasions when I myself don't get a word or line in Hungarian, despite the very standard pronunciation.

Contacting them would be really nice, but I don't think it's possible: I couldn't find any information about them on the net, apart from their uploaded songs. They have no website either. There's another musical project by this name, an electronic one, but they're not related in any way.

Also, ich höre eher:

Now reading while listening to it, I hear it as you wrote too. As for what you haven't mentioned, I also hear the beginning of "Zieht davon das Weltgericht" differently, but as I don't speak German, I dare not attempt to write it. Something ending in "kommt" instead of davon's second syllable though, maybe.

Hey guys, I really feel sorry for this bad job. Thanx Hansi, you're just my knight in shining armour. Always there to save my butt. Regular smile

Hunhxc, please say what you hear - anything will help! I confused this other musical project with them. So there is no chance to get in touch with them.

I've looked into the existence of what I perceived and thus I think it's "Sieghaft kommt das Weltgericht".

hunhxc    Thu, 06/07/2017 - 01:34

Yea I'm absolutely sure now, so could you please edit it to that? Regular smile

Flopsi    Thu, 06/07/2017 - 07:44

Thank you so much. You're right: Its "Sieghaft kommt das Weltgericht".

Okay, my translation might be any better. Any help / correction is welcome!
