Translation
The Rapture*
The moon falls over the night
as crickets sing,
in the sandy clay of the river,
intertwined they walk,
oblivious to time and space,
into the nocturnal night.
It can be seen in the distance,
the shack with the color of the earth,
a firefly is beside it,
it turns off its blinking light
and lets them pass by,
the lovers of the night.
A mother calls the neighbors out,
mezcal is drank as it is traditional to do so,
fireworks awaken the sunrise
to give testimony
to the purity of the dawn.
