And I think it's "mad dogs" running around in the dark and barking. As much as I'm used to russians being called orcs in Ukraine ;-)

Yep, perfectly right, that was a typo on my part. And I think it's "Pearly Gate" , not "Gates"?

"Gate" surely rhymes better with "fate", but it sounds like there's something of an s-sound after "Pearly Gate", intentional or not.

I don't think the lines of the 2nd stanza should end in question marks, because I think they are a continuation of the last line of the 1st stanza, and they just describe what he understands.

I don't know what they've done to his voice in the video that it sounds so strange. I can't get the beginning of what he says, but afterwards I think it's "Life will prevail over death, and light will prevail over darkness. Glory to Ukraine!".
