While there are translations that try to follow the words of Jacques Brel, they don't have the rhythm of the music. Rod McKuen translated Brel's songs with the meaning of the song, though maybe not a literal translation. Though I don't understand French, I love Brel's songs. But I also love McKuen's version of those songs.
