Let's drink spirits

After drinking up a three star bottle of spirits
Two men are studying their notebooks
One gripes about his full pages
The other's book has been without pages for long

The wife asks too much from her husband
Oh, just put a bottle on the table, then let's ponder
The children are sleeping, darkness grows thicker
The wife soon gets an answer from her old man

Let's drink spirits
And this way we'll be wiser
Let's drink spirits
Reality is suffering, occasionally
When you're sober

An elderly person makes the young pastor lose the plot
By enquiring them too much about death
The servings are scarse with the altar bread
The elderly person thanks, but only after "amen"

Some have too much ahead of them
Others try to rid themselves of the past
One has been swimming like the fish in their water
And another is even scared of their neighbours

Let's drink spirits
And this way we'll be wiser
Let's drink spirits
Reality is suffering, occasionally

Let's drink spirits
And this way we'll be wiser
Let's drink spirits
Reality is suffering, occasionally
When you're sober

A pretty depressing look into the reasons behind Finnish drinking culture.
